Uminchu-syokudo — Restaurant in Yomitan

We lived like 2 mins from the place... the seafood is fresh off the boat and very reasonably priced. The ground floor sells fresh fish and stuff and the canteen is on the 2nd floor. The fishes are all fresh from the morning catch. It's more of a canteen than a restaurant but the atmosphere is great.... you have a view of the harbor and boats coming in. None of the touristy stuff you get from downtown Naha. Here's you taste the ocean in in a very simple and rural manner. If you are nearby, lunch is definitely recommended. this is a small market located in yomitan, they offer set menus.

The first floor accepts international payments such as master,visa while the second floor accepts cash only through a vending machine.

Prices are a bargain for a donburi ranging from 950yen for a tuna bowl to 1950yen for a seafood mix don. You can also get the fish of the day dish where they give you what they have just caught.

The quality is high as the fish is live caught.

All in all, i reckon it's a down to earth local restaurant with fresh sea food. Definitely worth a visit if you...

Cheap and fresh seafood! Okinawa isn't really known for their seafood so if u want good seafood in Okinawa, here is a must come!

Ground floor is where usually locals come and shop for their seafood. There are simple white benches outside if you want a quick dine in.

Top floor is their restaurant and both the prices and freshness will amaze you! Imagine a plate of fresh sashimi is only 580 Yen while a pair of big lobsters is only 3,000 Yen!
