I went to this cozy little restaurant the other day and it had a really nice vibe. I think there were only two people working there (maybe the owners), and there were only four big tables, so I had to wait for about 40 minutes to get a seat. But honestly, it was totally worth the wait because the food was really delicious and high quality. Plus, they had an English menu which was great for anyone who doesn't speak the language. Wandered in for lunch. I had shrimp tempura and my wife had the grilled mackarel. Both set meals. Great food. Great prices. Nice people. English menu with pictures. Try the Yufuin cider. Just a nice stroll from the train station. Love finding places like this. We went back for lunch the next day and had the pork bowl, chicken tempura, and a very large miso soup. Excellent food again. A local person recommended this place and I was very pleased with the quality of food. Although it is known for a chicken dish, I tried a Bungo Beef (from Oita) set meal.
