Yufuin Kotobuki Hananosho — Hotel in Yufu

This hotel is nicely situated nearby the train and bus stations. The Nissan Rental Car shop is also very nearby.||On arrival we were greeted with welcome drinks of matcha and a sweet. Maybe because we arrived a little late at 4:45pm, we were only allowed to have dinner at 6:30pm which was a little early for us. But the food was plentiful and beautifully presented.||After dinner we found on the reception counter that the nearby Aeon store was open till 9pm and the supermarket was open till 10pm. So we walked across for some late night shopping. We bought a few Aomori apples and local beers back to enjoy in the room.||Breakfast was sumptuous as well. But coffee was not available in the restaurant. It was sold for 450 yen at the reception and we decided to go to town for our cuppa instead.||We stored our luggage at the reception and we visited the town area. We picked up the luggage again at 1:00pm no problem.||Overall it was a decent stay we enjoyed it and it was a very good price. I could see quite a number of tourists also...

We had an amazing time here. The hotel is located near the train station which is super convenient for getting to our next destination. The room itself is cozy. Even though some of the amenities are a little aged but they are totally functional and fit the overall vibes of the hotel, so I didn’t really mind that.

Our room did not have its own private onsen so we went to the public onsen instead, which was also very nice. There are two outdoor onsen with great privacy and there’s also an indoor one. I personally loved the outdoor onsen where I stared into the branches of the trees, counted stars afar, listened to the running water, while breathing out steaming air.

Dinner was amazing as well, as it’s not often that we had the experience to eat a long course dinner like this. It was definitely a memorable meal.

The earliest breakfast time is 7am. We had to skip it to catch the early train. I really wish I could have stayed...

Dinner and breakfast : all food was cold because half of the food (about 4-5 small dishes and main) was placed at my table before i went to the restaurant. The servant pushed me to eat faster as the second half (the rest 4-6 small dishes) was put on table when i just started the first half. Quite disappointing. Supposed dessert shd be served after meal, The servant even placed it when i still had 4-5 dishes not finished. Annoying. Hot spring : opening hour was acceptable but there was no view to the beautiful scene at all. Quite disappointing too. The bamboo screen was too enclosed, making me just looking the few plants there. When comparing with Naha, there’s only one type of hot spring and was too traditional. Room : it’s not large as expected.
