The staff are super friendly and helpful, and there is a resident goldie Akari and two cats in the compound. ||There are also five onsens - two outdoors - which were easy to access. In fact, we had four baths in one day, and recommend number 2 (indoor) and 1 and 5 (outdoors). 5 is slightly more private as number 1 is near the road and the carpark.||Entry to the place can be difficult as there is a sharp turn down the short ramp into the carpark area. We found that driving into the Lawson carpark first was easier.||Our room was slightly small and dated, though relatively clean. It was not futon beds and there was little space to spread out two large suitcases. The bed was comfortable enough though being located near the windows made it very cold. There was no hot water in the shower (could not get it to work) but there was in the sink. Anyway, we managed to shower a few times before entering the onsens, so that was not an issue.||The yakiniku dinner provided was tasty and of a wide variety, and included wagyu beef slices, chicken and pork. The restaurant staff were a delight and always had a smile and kept urging diners to request for refills like vegetables and rice.||Breakfast was Japanese style, and was good too.||Location wise, this ryokan is on the main road just off the highway, but if you intend to walk to the train station, it takes about 10 minutes. You need about 20-30 minutes walk each way if you are headed to the main shopping street, Yifuin flower village or Kirrin Lake.||It is a good place for a ryokan experience and at a good price point, considering the...

We’ll start with the not so ideal issues (largely due to preferences) with this hotel. Firstly, shower cubicles in the room was too small and toilet is a little cold when in use. The indoor onsen was a little dark and frankly, one is not sure if the place was cleaned properly because it was really dim. It’s also a bit far from the Main Street attraction but for this we are ok, we like to walk and explore.||The good - paid dinner that came with the stay was fantastic. More so if you stayed 2 nights to enjoy grilled wagyu on the 2nd night.||The house pets were lovely and if you enjoy domestic pets this is surely a small little paradise for you.||Surroundings~wise Lamp’s design revolves around a central courtyard garden. It’s beautiful and relatively tranquil, perfect for a quiet getaway.||Lastly, staff are all great with foreigners. I think many of the staff and foreigners themselves and seem to have little issues communicating in English. All were friendly and really helpful.||There’s a Lawson right beside the property and perfect for stocking your drinks and snacks.||All-in-all, great to come back...

Nice little hotel(not Ryokan) with very average rooms. The place needs a bit of updating, and spring cleaning and cleanliness can be improved. The rooms were not up to expectations, especially for the asking price. The staff are 99% foreigners and only during meal time do you see 1 or 2 Japanese staff serving the guests. One thing that stands out about this place is that they feed you really well, especially the set dinner that allows refills for certain protein items. Local liquor and Asahi beers are free flow at the pantry, which is a plus. As for the breakfast, it was a bit disappointing as it's pretty basic, and you are limited to just 45 minutes to finish your meal??? Their staff are a friendly lot, though, and will do their best to make sure you have a good stay. I can't say that about the value for the asking price, though. I felt they should be charging at least 20% less for what they're currently charging for what they have to offer. Just my sincere feedback from the 2 nights stay we spent there.

Stayed 2 nights. Beautiful garden and nice grill restaurant with breakfast and dinner provided. Room was very traditional Japanese and spacious. Only thing lagging are hooks to hang your clothes in the toilet and shower. Tv comes with Netflix too. By night, crickets and other insects started their orchestra and by 4.30am the sky gradually lighted up and birds start their individual singing. The feeling was so relax and coupled with the low temperature at 9⁰C to 13⁰C. One of the 3 cats (grey) decided to bunk into our room. There were also the indoor and outdoor onsen. Especially after bbq dinner go for it. I must give 6 stars to the kitchen crews who were very friendly and well organised in preparing the BBQ dinner and morning Japanese breakfast. Excellent job for kitchen crews especially the 2 males that were serving the restaurant. Overall the accommodation was super. Even one of the cat send us off when we checked out.
