Thank you, Maisa, for taking the time to respond to my friend Mazen feedback and for introducing the new concept of your place. We were together at your place yesterday. I genuinely appreciate the effort and dedication that you and your team put into creating a unique dining experience.
First and foremost, I want to clarify that my visit to your restaurant was driven by a deep understanding of your farm-to-table concept, which we've had the pleasure of experiencing elsewhere. We were drawn to your place precisely because we value this concept. The comparison I made to other breakfast options in Amman was primarily in terms of value for money and not meant to undermine the unique organic aspect of your offerings.
However, my concern mainly revolved around the pricing, especially for the "Miasa breakfast," which I ordered thinking it was for two people. Paying 25.5 JOD for a single person's meal was unexpected and led to our disappointment. We were willing to pay a premium for the organic concept, but clarity in the pricing is essential for customer satisfaction.
I must mention that during our interaction with the cashier, I explicitly stated that I wanted breakfast for two (twice in arabic), but there was no mention that the "Miasa breakfast" is for one person only. It's important for customers to be informed about portion sizes when ordering to avoid any misunderstandings.
Additionally, the lack of communication regarding the refill option for selected items was a missed opportunity for us to fully enjoy our meal. I believe that the waiter might have seen our table with clean dishes, and maybe yourself during a tour on table you made, I wish you would have offered us the option to refill our plates when you noticed us with empty plates in front of us! However, a more proactive approach in offering the refill option could enhance the overall dining experience.
From my observation and the patterns in earlier customer comments, it seems that these issues are recurring. To prevent future customers from encountering the same problems as we did, I recommend a more transparent approach. Clearly stating your refill policy, specifying that the "Miasa breakfast" is for one person, and explaining that refill bread is not available can go a long way in setting the right expectations for diners.
I hope this feedback contributes to improving your service and enlightening future customers. Best of luck with your restaurant, and I look forward to seeing positive changes that benefit both the place and...
Read moreI’ve visited several places with a similar concept both in Amman and other cities in Jordan, however my experiences there were far better than at Maisa Spaces. To start with, the atmosphere and decor are so nice and create a cozy, homey vibe. However, I would suggest putting more authentic traditional music to enhance the experience and match the theme.
As for the food, while the quality of ingredients is decent and high end, the dishes themselves are quite basic. I felt that rather than elevating the ingredients, the dishes somewhat degraded them.
The service, unfortunately, was one of the worst parts of my visit, from the owner to the staff. The staff seemed untrained regarding the menu, making it difficult for them to assist customers effectively, though they did try their best to provide good service. In my case, they did not explain the menu clearly, and I felt I understood it better than they did. There was also a mistake with one of my orders (labaneh with green thyme). Moreover,I had an issue with my eggs, as they didn’t ask how I preferred them cooked and I received them soft. However, the staff was cooperative and corrected the order to give me well-done eggs.
Later, the owner came by our table after hearing about the issue, but I was shocked with her unprofessional manner, when she started justifying herself, through blaming us for wanting well-done eggs, saying most expats and she herself prefer them softer because of the organic, high-quality eggs used. She completely disregarded my preference. I was also surprised when she mentioned that most of our first egg dish had been eaten, implying our request for a replacement was unreasonable, even though we had barely touched the plate and I could not eat any bite.
In my view, enjoying food is about the journey and the connection you feel with the cook (not only the ingredients and quality), which I found completely lacking in my experience at Maisa Spaces.
Thanks for the complementary tea you served at the end. Also, thanks for the staff for their politeness and their efforts in making sure having a...
Read moreWe went to the place knowing about it from Instagram and were hoping for a great experience .
We were really disappointed with the level of service , we had to wait for an hour and a half to be serviced with a plate of (all ready) portions of very basic menu (the only thing that needed cooking was the omelet)...
Lack of staff could be a reason for the number of table they had to serve. But we would be ok If the food was great , honestly it was average , nothing was special , not to mention the portions were very very small (the three of us actually left the place hungry) . Lastly with such experience, you would think the prices are reasonable, but it wasn't. Overpriced for sure.
Maybe if they work on fixing their service , portions , prices ..maybe it would be worth it .
I will add my response to the resturants comment on my review ,
1- I was never offered a (refill) nor this option was ever offered . But even it it was , I wouldnt think of it given the long waiting time for each item to arrive .
2- I clearly explained to the lady when I ordered that we were 3 adults and asked if this order would be enough for us and she assured me that it WAS more than enough.
3 - We paid overall 27 JD for a plate of tiny portion of local breakfast food (we understand it's from the farm , and we understand it's an organic farm) but we have been around and we do know this concept and we are very much aware of the prices around (We are not tourists). And to pay 27 JD for a plate that is barely enough for one person is not in any standard acceptable , no matter how good the food is.
Lastly, we care about supporting local businesses , thats why we give reviews , to make sure we help them improve . It's not for the sake of criticism or discouraging the...
