Al Kalha Stairs — Attraction in Amman

Nothing to see here. Just a bunch of dirty busted up stone steps leading nowhere, past a few sad little 'coffee shops', a book shop, some other odd tourist stuff, none are really much. The only good thing is it's quieter than the cacophony of the street. Not cleaner, not brighter, not more colorful, not more...

Short staircase, but the nice surprise is that it leads to a modern local art gallery, and the walk up has a lot of interesting and pretty graffiti and murals. It turns out this is the area where a lot of the younger "cooler" crowd of the locals reside - at least this is what we were told. The Jordan equivalent...

Amazing graffiti walls on the both sides of the stairs. Lovely umbrellas too, hung up just above the heads of the people walking up and down the stairs. Not a place for small children or old people who have reduced mobility. But definitely a place for art lovers and especially for street...
