I believe it was the owner, who served us on Monday evening, made us feel welcomed. He patiently explained the dishes and offered me to watch how traditional Arab bread is made in a special oven. The food was mouth watering. We came again after hiking 20km in Petra, which should speak for itself. During those two dinners we tried a variety of foods, all of which were good. For two of us the undeniably delicious and always worth recommending were Bedouin tea, too good to describe Kofta in tahini (beef in tahini sauce and spices that we could eat daily), and deliciously creamy and warm Sambousek Cheese. Another very good meal was Kibbeh Labanieh (kind of meatballs in very good sauce). We have also been given a complementary desert, which was the perfect ending of a meal (it was kind of vanilla pudding topped with honey and nuts). The other really good foods that we ate include: Camel Meat Kebab (tender and well seasoned), Shosh Taokk (chicken meat), and Falafel dish. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will also be very pleasantly surprised with prices.
The only thing to improve is the toilet (cleanliness and smell) and (if possible) flies, which were really annoying and took a dent in a very pleasant...
Read moreI don't understand good reviews, it seems to me that there are many fake reviews going around in Jordan and Wadi Musa. I'm not giving this 1 star because nothing bad happened (no food poisoning or anything like that) and the waiter was very nice.
The food however was by far the worst food I've had in Jordan, apart from the bread which was great (also they show you how they make it). Chicken grilled on charchoil - was hard to even cut it, very hard and dry. Camel kebab - after being told by the waiter that camel meat is the best, I received a dry kebab, I make 10x better kebabs by buying them in a German supermarket and grilling them on my gas grill. Kofta - passable.
It's pretty cheap. The waiter also came around to give free deserts (was actually better than the mains), then free tea.. but I'd much rather pay 2x the price and just get the stuff that I ordered, if it means I get good food.
Unfortunately it seems pretty hard to find a good restaurant in Wadi Musa because it's just a tourist town. I had similar experience in another restaurant. 4.9 stars is...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at Falafel Time Restaurant in Petra, Jordan! The service was excellent — the staff member who helped us was incredibly friendly and respectful.
We tried the mansaf, which was absolutely delicious, and the lemon juice was refreshingly perfect. We also enjoyed a warm, flavorful sahlab and a cup of refreshing tea — both were amazing and added to the cozy experience.
One of the highlights was relaxing in the traditional Arabian seating room (Majlis), where we enjoyed argileh (shisha) in a calm and welcoming atmosphere. It truly showcased the spirit of Jordanian culture, hospitality, and generosity.
For the first time ever, I felt like I was in a restaurant but also at home — that's how warm and genuine the experience was.
The prices are very reasonable, everything was spotlessly clean, and the overall vibe was perfect. I would definitely love to come back again — highly recommended for anyone...
