I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Chalet Restaurant multiple times over the years. First in 2019 during peak winter, again in 2020 in the middle of the snow season, and most recently in the summer of 2025. Every single time, the experience has been consistently wonderful. The restaurant’s wooden, old school alpine vibe makes it feel cozy and inviting, especially when it’s snowing outside. In winter, sipping their fragrant tea while looking out at the slopes is absolutely divine. In summer, the charm is different but equally beautiful!

As for the food, it has always been outstanding. The lagman is a must try, rich in flavor and heartwarming after a day in the mountains. The khachapuri is delicious and comforting, and their pastas are lovely. Even lighter options like the spring rolls and salads have been consistently good. Everything feels thoughtfully made, and beautifully presented.

What makes Chalet truly special is that it’s more than just a meal…it’s an experience. Whether in the depth of winter or the freshness of summer, the restaurant...

Yam Tam soup was good but for 20€ expensive. Meat shashlik was very good. Service very helpful. But nuts for 18€ too expensive. After claim for bad dessert the kitchen said "this is like it is our standard". Unlucky answer for that that we eat for 4 persons and drink for 200€.

View very nice from hill down to Almaty. Because of low quality of desert and stupid answers feom kitchen...

A very tasty place of such European cuisine with a beautiful view of the city and the majestic mountains. At a very high level, the service and the kitchen itself, the chef has a huge respect, knows how to surprise with the unusual taste of ordinary and very familiar dishes. There is a summer terrace and in itself a very cozy design of a Swiss hunting chalet. The place...

Right at the first stop of Shymbulak, The restaurant has a great view, which makes it even better. I ordered the Horse Steak Medallion and paired it with some Italian wine. I asked for medium, and it was cooked perfectly, just the way I like it. But honestly, the place is overpriced. You’re mostly paying for the location, not the food. It’s decent, but not worth the high price.
