Yesterday 10/5/2018 I visited your restaurant. I ordered a steak pie which was very very flaky and dry (even on the inside). I complained about it because I was highly doubting the freshness. The waitress called the floor manager (I guess), and he insisted that there's no way the pie would not be fresh because the restaurant ALWAYS throws out any food left over at the end of the day. I was not convinced, and he offered me an apple cinnamon cake, which I had no choice but to accept anyway. I had to eat something. Right? Fast forward 9 hours later, I've woken up at 3 AM with cramps and a running stomach. I'm 100% sure that it's because of the pie. I also want to point out the waitress who served us (a lady with lots of spots and pimples on her face) had a really nasty attitude. She even had the audacity to tell me that I should eat my pie with tomato sauce so that it doesn't feel/taste dry. To cut the long story short, let me say I am highly disappointed by the service I got yesterday. You need to serve clean and fresh food. Also train your waiters better. Giving smart comments to customers is a big NO NO. FYI, I frequent other Java houses, but I've not gotten such a bad...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreConveniently located in Adams arcade with plenty of space. The service can be slow. The prices are on the higher side. The one thing I do appreciate is that the Java menu indicates allergens. If you are lactose intolerant, do not eat eggs, allergic to wheat or nuts etc, they indicate the allergens next to the food. I found the milk alternatives quite expensive. A cup of hot chocolate with almond milk and 2 sausages at KES780 is expensive. That aside, the hot chocolate was quite good. If you are okay with dairy, the price is reasonable. They also did not have a few food items that were in the menu. This particular location looks like more of a business meet up venue or a quick place to crab a coffee. If you are on ngong road, this branch and the one in prestige are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJava house is CANCELLED! Storytime: A student group from visiting Kenya was looking for a casual lunch to end their 2-week school trip. Little did they know that java house would effectively take out 10 of the 15 members. Shortly 4 to 5-hours after consuming java house cuisine, half of their group had fallen sick. It was explosive. After mentally reviewing what the members had eaten for lunch they cannot accurately conclude the cause of the sickness. One thing they know for sure is that, yes java house milkshakes were delicious but this restaurant could be deadly. I will never return to this...
