I booked a half-board room for my Chinese engineer, check in 20th October 2019, check out 21st October, through sales manager Timothy Anyika. Rate was agreed. During check out, my guest approached front desk, they called me at 0850 hrs on morning of 21st and gave me the bill and paybill instructions. The bill given, was different from what was agreed. I however paid the agreed rate by 0855 hrs and immediately sent them the MPESA confirmation msg. Five minutes later I recd a text that payment still not reflecting. I got concerned, because they wouldn't let my guest go. The manager Timothy calls me and was extremely rude to me saying you haven't paid, and we do not give any credit. He kept insisting that you need to pay and that the text i sent was not genuine. I said you call safaricom as the vendor and confirm the msg i sent you, he is like that is not our job, you just haven't paid.I did call safaricom and they confirmed that the money was sent and the hotel had also received the text around the same time I did. I called Timothy again saying I spoken to safaricom and they have asked that you call them. He still rudely kept saying that that is not our job and had the audacity to tell me to go there and pay, only then would they release the guest. All this time, nearly more than 25 mins, my guest stood there, was very embarrassing and humiliating. Finally few minutes later, front desk texts me that guest has left and we are sorting out the issue internally with our accounts dept. There was a clear lack of coordination between front desk and accounts, for which my guest and I had to go through a humiliating experience. I texted the manager and demanded an explanation and clarification and apology. After several texts, he sent a meaningless text saying, we are sorry. Why was the guest detained, why was he so rude, what did he refuse to communicate with safaricom and why in the end did they let the guest go, if they claimed not to have recd the...
Read moreStayed here for 6 days. It was nice, great customer service from reception and staff at general. However, almost everything is written in Chinese! even the remote control! and No translation in most! The room i slept in was nice and quiet, however, this hotel does not have air condition and it was hot! Always woke up in the middle of the night parched, thankfully, they provide 2 bottles of water. But you can not open the windows at night because mosquitoes might get in! I hope they do something about this, they also spray mosquito repellent every evening that is awesome. I could tell the bathroom was old, sink had markings on them and some tiles in the shower chipped. Not nice. ||||The food was nice but the alcohol is expensive. A bottle of wine would cost you 4,000 Kenyan Shillings equivalent to $39, £29, 32 Euros must be magical. A glass of wine costs about 600 Kenyan Shillings in the Restaurant. There's only one Restaurant and it closes early at 10pm, so if you and friends want to have drinks in the hotel, you can only do so in the Casino on the hotel premises. I noticed drinks are cheaper...
Read moreArrived early in the morning in Nairobi. It was my first time there. Unfortunately, the lady at the reception was a newbie and kept giving us the wrong rooms, so had to wait a while changing room cards till i got what i wanted. Some of the rooms smelled of cigarettes although they were located in the non-smoking floors. My room was okay, large and spacious. The bed and pillows were clean and comfy. Unfortunately there was no AC in the room. So at night it got a little stuffy if you were planning not to open the windows because of the noise of the traffic outside. The water in the shower was not hot enough given the chilly weather in Nairobi. Otherwise, the staff were super, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and had a lot of variety...
