Perhaps at one point this restaurant may have served authentic italian food but that is certainly no longer the case.
Outside of the salads which is hard to mess up...
The bruschetta was dry and the tomatoes on top were likely from a week earlier. The Tagliatelle with mushrooms was full of sugar and made you feel sick after eating only a couple bites. The truffles was also not real but likely truffle oil, for which they added far too much. The risotto was cold and lacked any seasoning - not even salt or pepper. The pizza base was dry, cold and without any flavour.
In terms of atmosphere they were playing R&B in a "classy" Italian restaurant which is ridiculous to say the least. And the service was the worst I've seen in Nairobi - the waiter would not listen when we requested for simple things, utensils were missing from the table and they kept purposely bumping into my chair without a care in the world.
The ambience was not too bad, but not enough to save this disaster.

Read moreI don’t know why this place has good reviews. I came for Sunday Lunch. The table cloth was dirty - there were food marks from previous use (I guess Saturday night?). The seats & the flowers on the wall were dusty. I ordered the carrot ginger soup and it was so bad. It didn’t taste like carrot. It had a yellowish rather than an orange colour and had so much butter that I couldn’t take it. The dawa was not balanced. The lime over-powered everything else. My main course was the chilli garlic prawns and it was delicious. My friend ordered Ravioli which was good, but had too much white sauce. My other friend ordered beef which was also drowned in some yellow sauce. The service as mentioned by other reviewers was wanting. I requested for serviettes three times before someone actually brought. After they bring your main course, the waiters disappear. The issue of service from my observation is that there are too few waiters for the number of tables. The...

When in Nairobi, you eat Italian, especially if it's from La Case de Nico. Here is my take on the food I sampled.
Ribs - could have been cooked a tad bit longer. They were grilled and seasoned with salt and pepper.
Pork chop - a nice slab of tender and juicy pork. A dash of salt was added of course.
Mashed potatoes - Very thick and creamy at the same time. They really could have used some gravy.
Cauliflower - really good. I could have eaten a whole head myself.
Asparagus - crispy .....that's a good thing.
