I hated the experience I had here. My friends and I were attracted to the restaurant because the food looked amazing and we had been searching for a place to have nice ribs. Seemed like the best place at the Village market seeing that most people were eating food from there. The customer service was the worst. I understand that it can be busy during the weekend but how do we ask for a menu from five of your staff members and get ignored every single time? One waitress seemed openly annoyed by our request for the menu. Five times they said they'd bring the menu and each time they walked past us to go serve other people. Does the restaurant offer self service? Because if that's the case then prior notice of this would have been appreciated rather than just being ignored. We however noticed that the staff were much friendlier towards people not of African descent, and those who have a celebrity status in Kenya, so maybe we just weren't the target audience at the restaurant. Was that a mere coincidence or is that how things usually operate here? We were so excited to try out the food and the shakes but after that experience I doubt either of us plans to ever go back there. Work on your customer service and make it as appealing as the food you serve. Because what we experienced yesterday was just bottom of the...
Read moreThe pork ribs and burgers are big hit with my family. The ribs are full of flavor, fall off the bone just right and the texture is perfect all the time! The burgers are juicy and packed with flavor! Yum!
If you have a sweet tooth, the milkshakes will give you a delirious sugar high.
Great place for a late Sunday lunch with kids, or to meet a friend. A first date too!
The food court ambience is great for a laid back meal. It gets really packed on Sundays, up-to around 4pm, if crowds are not your cup of tea, avoid Sunday lunch.
Budget KES1000 - KES1500 per person. The portions are a good size and can be shared, so you can mix-up the orders if you are in a group and want to sample a variety of things.
Docked points for the cutlery scarcity. The lady who was serving us brought the meals and was subsequently at pains to explain how she needed to walk around the food court looking for cutlery. She rallied and brought us cutlery after a short wait, but then the ribs needed re-heating. We commend her for staying calm...
Read moreMay 13 2018 at 1:00 pm, my husband took me for a mothers day treat at the RocoMamas at Village Market. By 1:30 pm, we still had not been attended to, yet Caucasian families around us who came after us were digging into their meals.
What is even sadder is another Kenyan couple who came minutes after us had to go to the reception to demand service.
I am greatly offended by a restaurant whose staff behave so racist to fellow Kenyans. I will never go back and warn fellow Kenyans or Africans to be aware.
We walked out in protest, and celebrated mothers day elsewhere where we were welcomed and served promptly.
We did raise this issue to the Manager, but all she did was look at us in disbelief, I guess surprised that we spoke up. No apologies were given. To be honest, I did not expect them to...
