I spent 24 nights here recently and couldn't have been happier. I am a return guest and the staff remembered me and treated me royally. For such a long stay, Magna became a warm home away from home. In addition to the great service and spacious rooms, I continue to love the quiet of this place...this time I got a room with a balcony on the back side facing a forested area...it made me feel like I was staying in the countryside, not in an urban area. While there are other larger chain hotel experiences nearby, I continue to recommend Magna to colleagues who travel to Nairobi if they want an experience that feels more like a B&B than a hotel. If you need hustle and bustle, the Village Market mall is a 5 min walk away with many restaurant choices and shopping and easy access to cab transport. ||||I also brought my client here to use the Magna conference space for a two-day retreat with 30 people. My client loved the service, food, cozy feel and convenient location of this place. They do conference hosting/business meeting support as well as any big hotel I've used before. Your client will feel as if they have the place to themselves. ||||I will continue to recommend Magna to all visitors to Nairobi, especially if you are working at the UN or US Embassy. In addition to the above, it is an easy 10-minute walk to work vice spending time in...
Read moreI've stayed at a few Nairobi hotels over the years as I visit for work and Magna has to be one of my favourites. You get a lot more for a lot less money than you'd pay elsewhere in the city. The rooms are huge (I think it rivals my 1 bedroom apartment) and tastefully decorated with hardwood floors and traditionally inspired rugs. The king size bed is very comfortable, and there's also a sectional sofa and large desk area in each room. The bathroom is spacious and modern, with both a tub and rainwater head shower. Pro tip - ask for a room with a balcony!||||A decent breakfast is included - there's a range of hot dishes, cereal, yogurt, cheese and fruit, and the chef will customize eggs for you. It's also right across from Village Market mall which has a number of restaurants (both sit down and food court) in case you want to mix things up. ||||However, what really sets Magna apart is the service, the staff here are incredible. Warm, welcoming, and attentive, staff often went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable (without us even asking)....
Read moreAfter staying in a handful of other very nice Nairobi hotels, this is now my go-to spot. I was here for 10 nights while on business at the US embassy. I loved the convenience ( 8 min walk), the warm staff, the quiet, the warmth of a smaller hotel, and the very expansive rooms. For less money than most higher end hotels, you get a lot more. It has the ambiance of a B&B, and the rooftop deck and pool were ideal for after work beers and just hanging out/doing email. Had it to myself most times I was there. The gym on the roof is small but adequate with a handful of machines and weights. The breakfast is adequate, not a huge spread like some of the bigger hotels, but the chef will customize omelets as you wish. The bar is one room off the restaurant with one TV and adequately stocked. The small fridge in the room was roomy and convenient, and you are just a 2-minute walk to the Village market with food markets and restaurants and shops. I look forward to coming here during...
