It was my 1st time to patronize Njuguna's.

The food was very good, the prices are reasonable.

The company was great. There was a good vibe through out our time there.

We hung around, well into the night.

I tried the passion mojito. It was really good

The music was great. On Wednesday they DJ plays 'Soul' 🎧🎶 We sat outside, on the terrace, but surprisingly we could not hear the noise from the cars passing by.

We could only hear the music. The facility was clean. The bathrooms too

I will definitely be going back for the nyama choma and mukimo soon.

2nd visit to Njuguna's:

My 2nd visit to Njuguna's was a total disaster.

I arrived around 4ish in the afternoon, and was not able to get a table right away as it was full being a Friday.

When l eventually got one with 3 seats, within 30 minutes the owner forcefully brought strangers to sit with me despite me telling him that l was expecting 2 other people.

He was very rude, his demeanor was non chalant.

He got us another table after my friend complained and we had to move, from the table l got earlier which was conveniently closer to the door.

The substitute table no. 2 we got was nearer to the bar and it was so stuffy / as the inside is not well ventilated despite the doors being opened.

The music was terribly loud on that day. 😥

We eventually got a 3rd table on the verandah, to our relief, which was much better or so we thought until it rained.

There was no covering when it started to rain, so we had to move the table closer to the wall.

My girlfriend fell due to the very slippery floor. 😥

Service :

The service on the day was a disaster. The waitress would disappear for long periods of time.

Food:

The goat wet fry was good, but they did not have soup, mukimo and managu, forcing us to eat cabbage. The cabbage was very mediocre.

Parking:

The parking at Njuguna's was not well thought out. They needed to have built an underground facility.

Motorists on this day were reversing onto the highway - Waiyaki Way, which was dangerous. It's a disaster waiting to happen.

I won't be going back to Njuguna's...

Dissappointment galore! One thing yu should know the kitchen closes at 10pm, with some sort of go slow starting at 9pm. Got there at 8:45pm, only to be told they were out of meat, (Njugunas out of meat, how?😂) the waiter proceded to suggest we take chicken or fish. My date however said she’d come for nyama and suggested we leave, thats when the hostess changed tune and told us we could order and have it made but it’d take an hour…Told her we were in no hurry. Went to the butchery to make my order I wanted fry and choma but the lady in the kitchen says fry may take a while, the chef is leaving soon I just settle for only choma which I conceded. (mark this part) 1.5 hrs later nyama comes, but its cold.. i ask the hostess politely to warm it up, ´we dnt have a microwave’ she says, ‘You do have a pan tho?’ i ask she took the nyama albeit with resistance.. Took another 15min then brought it back fries were cold by now bt at least the hot nyama would make it palatable right? Wrong, The meat was still cold! Luckily my lady and I were already buzzed and mellow, still hungry and with no energy for drama. we ate half of it and packed the rest. Oh btw, as our cold meal was getting packed the next table received a hot steaming beef fry platter the same i was told would take too long and from a kitchen that was supposedly closed. You should...

On Aug 13th or 14th, I regretted not going to The Roast at The Hub in Karen. I told my lady let's try this since she heard it's good. That was not our experience. It was not good at all.

I love goat! I ordered it and I got like 70-75% bone. I've had goat before especially when I eat at The Roast in Karen in get more meat than bone. I know goat dishes are boney but not 70-75% bone.

As for the service, the waitress worked her best but she said one dish was going to come out now. Then we didn't get it for at least 20-25 mins later. Failure to follow through is poor service. If something changes, discuss with the customer.

What kind of business or restaurant doesn't have a supervisor or manager when things are bad? I guess this one. I was over 90-100 mins. At the 30 min mark, I asked for supervisor or manager. They allegedly could find him or he was on break. For the entire 90-100 mins??? I ended up leaving and never spoke to a manager.

Good luck if you decide to go here. I recommend The Roast for great goat and...

I was very excited to try some authentic Kenyan food, but this place left me disappointed. We ordered some Mbuzi Choma (BBQ Goat) and it looked delicious. It came by itself with no sides, so you have to order a gem separately. When they delivered it to our table it was barely warm, so we asked them to warm it up for us. It took them 40 minutes to warm it up, more than double the time to bring it the first time. The goat meat was bland and not very tasty. The service was slow, and our waitress was not very friendly at all. Overall I was disappointed with this restaurant.

Let's say that this is my first proper meal in Kenya and if you've done some research, the locals would recommend you go here for their nyama choma (barbequed meats). Yes, it was good. But somehow I expected a bit more. It is smoky, maybe a little bit bitey and probably could have been a bit more tender than I would have liked. Still, it goes well with ugali and kachumbari. I came before actual lunchtime, but it seems to be a place that would go off at night. The locals go here, travelers would go to the upmarket Carnivore. Still, it was a memorable meal.
