I'll begin by saying this is a nice spot to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful Diani beach and ocean views as well as extra-curricular activities such as walking to the reef during low tide or learning to Kite surf.

The biggest problem with this location is the entrance road. Very bad. Mostly due to erosion as the incline from the main road to the beach in this particular spot is fairly steep. If you have no car, take a bike without worrying about looking for one later when you want to leave.

As for the service, it's lacking during the off season and tends to be better during months like December. That being said this spot can get very crowded which degrades the service, naturally. Waiters and waitresses are only human.

If you want to visit, go early as there's limited seating.

The seafood platter is nice but their lobster is not great. This is attributed to when you order though. If done early you get the nice catches and as the day goes on they cook what's available and that tends to be the problem with lobster.

As for prawns and calamari, nice. No complaints.

Food prices do not match the quantity and quality of the food so don't have your expectations set very high. They've priced it for tourists that don't mind paying.

The beach is great, it's Diani.

Watch out for monkeys that will steal your food is they catch you lacking.

The toilets aren't good. This is common in areas that aren't hotels.

The bar has very limited stock but if you like beers you're okay. Again, the bar is well stocked during high season months like December.

All that being said, I would say go check it out. I still do go there every year knowing what I know. Be humble and polite and if the waiter doesn't reciprocate with good service, ask for...

Relaxing place where you can sit on the beach and enjoy a beer or cocktail. Food is standard Kenyan cuisine at cheap prices for the beach. Beef skewers are chewy. Chips are fresh and good. We didn’t order seafood because the kids didn’t want it today. Beer was cold enough. Fewer decorated ladies than Bidi Bado.

2022 review Visited twice New Year’s week. First time was “ok”. Male server was always making mean comments to the female servers. It was clear that he was putting them down and they were getting discouraged. Definitely not making it a happy atmosphere. He didn’t seem to care about patrons or his colleagues. All he seemed to care about was money. The second visit was worse than the first. Ordered food at 1:15pm and didn’t get food for two hours. Others who came after us were served before us. When we went to complain, the manager came. But instead of caring for the customers, he got upset with us and mocked us for claiming that we had been waiting two hours. He called to the kitchen to check the order book. It was confirmed that we were waiting TWO HOURS for some fried food. Any apologies? Nope. He was angry and willing to cancel our order. Servers still brought out the food but they were clearly not happy that we complained. Not a single apology. Not a single plate of chips comped. Guess they don’t want us...

Always love me a bit of Amigos! Basically sitting on the beach with the most amazing views, nice cold beer, and music in the background. Staff is absolutely lovely. Only drawback is the very basic toilet in a shack - but it is a beach in Sub-Saharan Africa, lol. BTW - I need to add here: if you enjoy a superb deep tissue massage, look no further. I am going back this week for a third session. Next to Amigos, on the footpath to the main road, you will find Fatuma the masseuse. She is not gentle, but boy does she do well! I have had knots in my shoulders and neck for years, and she has worked them out. It can be real painful, but I don't think I have had a better massage. Go...
