We stayed at Diani Sea Resort at the beginning of August for 10 days and our stay was nothing short of magical the entire duration.||General: |The room was clean, our balcony view was amazing and the facilities on site were more than enough to keep you as relaxed (or as busy) as you wanted.|We purchased some extra activities while there eg. Jet skis, snorkel trip, massages, and my partner organised to play on a local golf course.|We also took part in some hotel entertainment that was included eg. Archery, beach volleyball, pool, mini golf, and night time karaoke - but every day there was always something going on, including entertainment of an evening.|There are also board games available to borrow. We enjoyed playing chess around the pool - It was a nice touch for travellers who get bored easily from sunbathing.|The wildlife on site was also entertaining 24/7. There are groups of vervet monkeys and colobus monkeys that are very cheeky! Mornings and late afternoons are when they are most active and we loved watching them cause mischief. |Other wildlife was also in abundance! Lots of interesting insects, lizards, trees, and birds! If you don’t like spiders - be warned - some of them are HUGE! But you will be glad to know that they don’t leave their webs so you won’t have any bedroom surprises. |Around the pool there were lots of butterflies and dragon flies dancing around - it’s breath taking for nature lovers (despite being in a big hotel) ||Food/drink: |Just fantastic! As we had been on a safari trip before we arrived at the hotel, the consultant giving our vaccines prior to the trip instilled the fear of god into us about food and water. Water must be taken seriously but we took her food advice with a pinch of salt (thankfully) and tried as much food as possible in the hotel - all was delicious and had so much selection. The bbq cook outs were unreal and we liked the fresh eggs and pancake stations in the morning!|The poolside snack bar operated from midday into early afternoon. We loved it and tried almost everything on the menu!|As for the drinks … there are cold water dispensers around the site or at the bars. You have two large thermoses of water in your room and they refilled every day. We really appreciated the sustainability of this! It was nice to see refillables and not just big plastic bottles left every day.|Other drink selections were overwhelming, but in a good way. All soft drinks, spirits, draft lager, cocktails etc. we were spoilt for choice.||Pool/beach: |We had read some worrying reviews about towels being put out early but throughout the duration of our stay we did not find this to be the case. There were plenty available and often didn’t fill out until late morning/early midday. |However, I would recommend getting up for the sunrise over the beach in the morning as it is stunning. |While the loungers on the beach were accompanied by a gorgeous view, they are shaded from about 1pm onwards as the sun sets behind the hotel. They are also quite breezy. However, we often appreciated this as the direct sun could get quite intense. |A personal highlight for us was the small pool on top of the mini water slide. It has seats and a ledge so we would often take a cold drink and cool off there.|The staff occasionally take orders from the loungers too. This was a delightful added touch to the already impeccable service. ||Which leads me to the real personal highlights of our stay - the staff.||I am lost for words because they were truly fantastic. Right from the moment Orasmas checked us in, they were friendly, welcoming and unbelievably helpful. They carried our bags to our room and on check out day the security guards approached us about when we were aiming to leave so they could help us with our bags to reception. |We didn’t catch the names of many of the staff we spoke to but everyone from the help desk, to cleaners, to gardeners, to entertainment, to waiters/waitresses, to security, to chefs, to bar staff - all of them couldn’t do enough for you. |There were a couple of stand out staff members for us, though. In particular: Orasmas (and another older gentleman on the front desk - his name has slipped from our minds but it could have been Immanuel) they were very accommodating. Joyce and Misa (I think Misa was her name) in entertainment were also a delight. |But most of all, there were three waiters, two called Hamisi (we knew them as big and little Hamisi), and Kombe who we looked forward to seeing on the days they worked. They were exceptionally attentive and a pleasure to talk to. On our check out day little Hamisi came and found us to give us one last cocktail of his own design and without us even ordering it. It was delicious, we called it the Hamisi special. ||All staff members spoke to us in impeccable English and many of them spoke multiple languages to accommodate other guests. I think this is often overlooked by travellers and should be commended more. To go through a work day while seamlessly flitting between languages different to your native tongue must be mentally exhausting. ||The staff members are truly the backbone of this hotel.||We would love to come back and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Diani!|Asante Sana! |From Jack...

I booked a two week stay on the all inclusive basis, as I was a female travelling solo and as it was my first time in Kenya I was a little apprehensive prior to going, that feeling didn’t last long, I was greeted by the most friendliness staff.|My lodge was beautiful, much better than a hotel , it felt like I had my own private little home and I was close to the reception area which was perfect for me, it was a stunning lodge and spotlessly cleaned every single day by the lovely housekeeper Baya , he would always have a wonderful smile and as he cleaned my room he would have a chat with me every morning which made me feel more welcome he is such a credit to Diani Sea Lodge.|Other staff members that’s are also a credit to your company is Sandy he was always so friendly, greeted me with the biggest smile and would always hand me beautiful flowers from the garden, and also Kadi who would make the sweetest flower decorations for me.|As I’m from the UK I was the only one guest that could speak English as all the other guests were from the Netherlands and also Germany so that was a little awkward at times but thankfully every member of staff spoke perfect English so that made me feel not secluded. |My mornings always began just sitting outside in the garden drinking a coffee watching the cheeky little monkeys getting up to mischief , it was heaven .|The pool area was splendid, the pool itself had a deep end as well as a shallow end which was great to relax in and the garden area and the views of the beach were spectacular to chill the day away.|The bar staff made fantastic cocktails and the food at the snack bar was great if you missed lunch, I highly recommend the Spaghetti Bolognaise.|The main buffet restaurant which served breakfast , lunch and dinner was fabulous, service was always with a smile and there was so much to choose from, it always tasted delicious.|Twice weekly they would set up tables outside next to the pool area for dinner which felt like such a lovely touch and was nice to eat outside .|They also served an afternoon tea.|You will never go hungry at this hotel that’s for sure , you are certainly looked after.|As for the evening entertainment I can’t comment on that as I preferred to go back to my lodge to chill by myself to have a coffee after eating dinner so I didn’t see any of the entertainment.|Near the poolside bar there is a boat excursion that they advertise , it’s a full day trip to Wasini island , do not miss that, I highly recommend you book and go as it was an amazing day trip, I swam in the sea with a turtle 🐢 and with dolphins 🐬 what an experience! |I would also recommend doing a day trip to a local wildlife park called BoraBora and book to have lunch with a giraffe .|It was only a 10 minute ride away from the Lodges .|I think I paid approx 100 USDollars which included full day access to the park and a lovely 3 course meal with a giraffe ! 🦒 |It’s not every day you have lunch with a giraffe , I absolutely loved that experience 🦒|During my two week stay I also went away and experienced a 3 day safari, I simply left my belongings in the safety of my lodge and took a small bag with me for what I needed for the 3 days, the staff kindly gave me a packed lunch box for my breakfast as it was an early start, you simply ask at reception for this the day before your safari and they will help you.|I would highly recommend Diani sea lodge for any solo travellers as I felt perfectly safe and welcomed from the moment that I arrived and I slept like a baby in the huge clean, most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in on any holiday.|I was sad to leave after my two week stay as i absolutely loved this place.|A huge thanks to all the staff at Diani Sea Lodge for making my...

Was meine ich damit? In allen Sprachen.

Today was my last day staying here and i wish i could give it 5 out of 5 but i would be lying. From the airport the pick up driver kept having hacking cough and not covering his mouth and spitting through his open window with all four windows down. Very unsanitary and also took over 2 hrs to drive which was okay but it was also because the driver would let 6 cars merge everytime. After that when we arrived at the resort and i paid remaining balance which they were happy to remind you, i was escorted to the room and its not like they say hey, this is where everything is or give you a tour. The guy who escorted us simply dropped the bags in the room and bolted. When i came out of the room, i felt lost so i asked the receptionist "we dont get a tour"" it's just about everyone to find their own way" that's when he walked halfway to the pool place asking hey"mwonyeshe".first impression definitely left a bad taste. Food had good day and bad days. It was overall okay. Some waitress had attitude when i requested water and even when i offered to get it myself. In addition, at the inclusive bar, sometimes i would order and as i stood there, 4 or 6 people order would be taken after given before i got mine. So i wondered if it was because out of 100 guests or whoever many they were, if me being 1 or 4 only blacks had a factor. Yes the staff is all black but still. So 2 review was earned because, the location was great and i had 2 other bartenders who were amazing and 2 staff members who are great. Met the manager as well, shared my concerns but i was highly disappointed again when the night before they promised to have breakfast set before leaving for airport but at 630,636,640 sign still said closed and when i inquired , they said go in and coffee was availabe and tea but no food. That was disappointing considering i needed a shuttle by 7 to take us to the airport. Would i recommend coming back probably not because i wanted my experience to be as great as the amount i paid to stay at diani sea lodge! Paid 7000 again for shuttle services to the aiport, total 14000ksh yet they were arguing about giving me a receipt on top of the total amount i paid at this lodge. Left the place sad, angry, disappointed for sure!

To be honest, I will try to make this review as objective as possible. We came for a safari to the Maasai Mara and paid a good amount of money for the experiences we had, including the tents in the national park, which were of very good quality and provided great service. When we wanted to take a few days off in Mombasa, specifically at Diani Beach, we chose this hotel and traveled with our children. This hotel is all-inclusive, and the price for the four of us was around $430 per day, including everything, which is not cheap. However, we believe we are customers who expect more. For example, the towels were not white, and the ones provided were of very poor quality. The shampoo and rinse bottles had no labels, so we didn’t know what we were using. The facilities were probably luxurious 30 or 40 years ago, but now they are definitely very old. The menu was not the best but quite varied. I think it depends on what you are looking for in an all-inclusive hotel. When I compared it with other hotels in different parts of the world, the service here was very good, but the facilities left much to be desired. Many times, we were bothered by the smell in the room, which seemed like urine. We believe it could be due to monkeys entering through the windows or something like that. Additionally, at the bar, the service was extremely slow. The bartenders took a long time, likely to discourage people from ordering more. Overall, the old facilities may appeal to some people who might rate this hotel 4/5, but for us, it is a 2/5. However, we must highlight that everyone, from the guard to the cooks, was extremely kind to us, and that is something worth mentioning. For example, I didn’t like the fact that they gave us refillable water bottles to brush our teeth because they were old, and we didn’t know if someone had put their mouth directly on them. On the other hand, the toilet paper was of very poor quality, and small details, such as the old and rusty bottle opener, were disappointing. Overall, we had a good experience, but we are very picky, and we like fine details. It all depends on the customer, but we tend to be very particular.

This place was everything right from the reception. The check in and check out is so quick 5 to 10 minutes. The workers are so nice, courteous and friendly right from the gate, receptionists, waiters, ground keepers and house keepers. I specifically would like to shout out Valentine who handled my booking, everything was as my specifications. I would recommend the bahari rooms, right next to the beach with a partial view of the ocean. The rooms were clean and spacious and came with a functional AC and stocked mini fridge that is refilled daily as per preferance. The bathroom was also very clean and clean towels supplied. But on the last day I did not have hot water. The beach is so clean and I loved the seating spaces by the ocean. They also had guards along the beach entrance so we felt safe leaving our valuables on the sunbeds and going into the water. The only downside was the hawkers who would at times ruin moments constantly persuing you to buy something. The food was amazing and they had a variety at every meal. It is an all inclusive hotel which means acess to the snack bar, restaurant and unlimited drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic-we were never hungry. But I hated how at times we had to queue for food especially when the set up was outside and the queues dragged. We had some activities druring the evenings, the band was my favourite. During the day, I participated in the water aerobics that takes place in the pool from 10:30. The animation team was great too, loved that they could hold your child and allow you some quiet time. I def do recommend.
