The food was a treat. We got some dry meat fry and a meat dish in a thick gravy and Kerala parotid and appams. The packaging was good and the foods retained freshness though we consumed them an hour or so later and there was still enough for another meal!
Of course we are elderly! But while we waited for our order to be ready , we saw a young man with many dishes before him and still busy consuming various dishes - this was somewhere around 11 in the morning and so it must have been his brunch :D But that was proof enough for us that the food would be good.
I was anxious about both meat and parotta as my gums and teeth are still tender after an extraction: both were excellent! The meat was tender and just spicy enough. The parotta was a pleasure even when slightly reheated and served a day or two later.
The shop is filled with goodies of all sorts to delight any Malyalee heart but even others will find it hard to resist walking away with arms full of purchases.
I wish the place and those who manage it and those who cook there a Happy, Healthy and Wealthy New Year and may they always bring pleasure...

Please note that this is a basic restaurant, so don't expect a fancy ambiance or anything of the sort. We tried the Kerala chicken curry with Appam and Parotta, and it was absolutely fantastic. In the vegetarian section, we tried the Kadala Curry, which was also quite good. The portion sizes were decent considering the price. The Appam was particularly outstanding.
The staff is polite and responsive, and while the hygiene is acceptable, there's room for improvement in the interior. There was a constant smell of fish in the restaurant, which might bother vegetarians a little, but you'll likely become accustomed to it within a few minutes.
Additionally, they have an essentials shop that offers a variety of authentic items directly from Kerala. We tried the jackfruit chips and banana chips, which were delicious. Keep in mind that these items are imported from Kerala, so they are slightly on the...

The 42 seater Kerala Restaurant now doubles up as a Kerala Store when the restaurant was closed due to Covid 19 pandamic. I got a chance to taste the food here last Friday. And yes, I was not a bit disappointed. Though its a small place, you will get the feel of its Mallu-ness as you enter the place. Strong cooking smell of curry leaves welcomes you in. It serves both Veg and Non Veg. I settled for a mini meal. Fat rice, sambar were the main hero on my make shift paper banana leaf. Other items to decorate the leaf was greens peas subji, cabbage sabji, strong tasty pickle along with pappadum and buttermilk. Next time I will be exploring some egg dish here. After having your food you may want to take some Kerala snack if you wish. For me, its a best new find...
