Let me start by saying that this place is special to my heart. It used to be my favorite before leaving the country. I make a stop and go there every time we come for a visit to Beirut. I was very disappointed this time. First we were greeted outside by a guy who wanted to take our keys and gave us a little card. Mind you the parking spot is PUBLIC!!! Anyway, we abided and went inside. On our way back he asked for money... Heck no! We refused as again ... this is PUBLIC space... second, we came in very early to bypass the hookahs but unfortunately the Lebanese people are desperate to choke themselves with smoke even at 10 ish in the morning. Third the manager or supervisor was a jerk to all the workers. He was literally barking at everyone and treated them like they were nothing. I don’t know if he thinks that this is ok but to us it’s absolutely not. On the positive note, the female server was amazing! She was all smiles and recommended good food. Food was great too and the view was amazing. So it was a good experience ... just not awesome like usual. My advise: get rid of the parking dudes scamming us for money... we already are paying a lot inside and I won’t be coming back if they stay... improve WiFi as it was slow, and tell that gangsta supervisor to take a chill pill. Pic below is for the cuba crepe which was...

On their Menu, I went to the “fresh juices” section and ordered a FRESH mango juice and instead I got a carton packed juice like what you get from shops. I mentioned this to the waiter and he tried convincing me that it was fresh but it WAS NOT CLEARLY. I then asked to speak to a manager who then said that it was frozen fruits, AGAIN it wasn’t fresh so he admitted that. The service was so poor they did not offer to take it off the bill instead asked me to swap it but I was upset at this point and didn’t want a swap. The pepper steak we ordered (the waiter did not give us option of whether we wanted fries or baked potatoes with it) so he decided to choose for us baked potato which was very odd to go with a steak. The chicken bayrock my wife ordered, the chicken was so dry she couldn’t eat it. Finally, we ordered Frakeh and we specifically asked the waiter how many pieces of Frakeh we get with it and he said 4 big pieces, instead it came with about 10 small tiny pieces which clearly indicates that the staff are CLUELESS. There are much better places to go eat and enjoy along that strip. I will NEVER visit Bayrock...
Read moreI came for a ajami shisha. First they insist to get you a small water bottle (1.5$) even though I haven't ordered it. I don't understand why honestly. Second, when I ordered the bill (13.5$), I gave them a 20$ bill, they bring me back 500,000 lbp (5.5$)..I tell him the amount is wrong and it should be more, he then tells me yes we rounded it up to 14$, then he tells me that they didn't have small change. (They had to give me back 85,000 lbp btw). The clever waiter tells me "mish 7erzenin".. I'm like what the hell, you decide if they are "7erzenin" or not? And by the way the same thing happened to me before in this restaurant. I'm sorry but if you don't have small change to give back, that is YOUR problem and not the customers problem. I'm assuming they do that with everyone and always use the same "7ejjé" of not having small change. And guess what, after a heated but respectful debate with the manager Ammar, the waiter comes back with the small change (85,000 lbp)..wait, but you just told me you don't have any small money! 🤔 Hahaha, ridiculous. Never...
