Julienne x Au Vieux Quartier — Restaurant in Saifi

(1) Ambiance: Credit where credit is due, the ambiance is amazing. That’s it. Everything else is underwhelming.

(2) Service: The hostess was super rude and kept on reminding us that we should leave at 9 over and over again even tho the place was empty. We reserved before hand and she wanted to seat us at the bar, but we refused. The table we sat on was tight even tho the rest of the place is spacious. They sat us on a table for 4. so we pushed aside the extra two plates to make space for the food. We had to ask the waiters to remove the other plates; they did it eventually but with an attitude. As we were collecting our stuff to head out the waiter was trying to remove the empty place and kept bumping into us.

(3) Food: The food is super average to say the least. It’s the most expensive underwhelming meal I had. We ordered a selection of appetizers but the fries took forever; they arrived 15 mins after we finished eating everything else. The Strozzapreti Bolognese was really good The wasabi was too much. We got the Crab Avocado Salad, and the Red Prawn Carpaccio and they tasted like wasabi. The crab salad was really good once you remove the wasabi bread on top Fries...

I hate to leave bad reviews but Julienne deserves one. They started off by losing our reservation that we booked well in advance and could only give us a table for a short time. The waiters brought out still water after we sat without even asking what we wanted to drink and had to be asked 3 separate times to get us sparkling water before they finally did. We had to ask for the menu because a QR code was not present on the table. When we asked for the menu, the waiter said it can be found on instagram and just walked away without saying anything more. The food came on time but was extremely sub-par. The veal fillet was the worst I’ve ever had in my life (I wish I took an picture) and the sea bass was dry and without taste. The waiters were weirdly uncoordinated and it seemed there was not one assigned to our table but just anyone who was available (which they never really were), to the point that after we paid the bill with one waiter, another oddly came up to us and asked if we’d like desert. I honestly had low expectations due to the bad reviews I read online; however, I LOVED this restaurant…

Food taste is perfect, ambience-vibe-decoration is amazing, and the staff is extremelyyyy nice and caring!! I super recommend this place..

I had the portobello starter which comes with a brie and goat cheese melt on a toast and a hint of tomato sauce (5/5), the julienne signature burger (5/5), fries (5/5), and truffle gnocchi (4.5/5)

Julienne is on the pricier side though, I felt like even though taste, and experience was exquisite, the price tag was a bit too high for what I ordered.. paid $90 for the above mentioned orders (add water + 1 sparkling water)..

Bare in mind that I went for late lunch and early dinner.. so the lower crowd volume might have made my experience way better (Given that people complained about smoking n stuff like that)

Also I did notice a guy returning a filet (but from what I understood it was just that it wasn’t cooked the way he had ordered it and not due to the taste)

Overall, I recommend this resto, super amazing food taste and vibe,...
