Rotonda Nida — Restaurant in Neringa

The food was fantastic; however, the service was poor and unprofessional. We ordered a large (750ml) bottle of cider to share which was brought to our table and placed in an ice bucket after a glass each had been poured. We did not touch the bottle after this. Later in the evening the bottle was removed from our table. We asked why, assuming they had gone to replace the ice and were informed the bottle had been disposed of. We told the staff the bottle was still full except for the first glass and the bottle must have been taken by mistake. Mistakes happen and this was not the issue; however the resolution was unacceptable. The correct resolution would have been to return with a new bottle and apologise, or offer to take the bottle off the bill. Instead the staff argued amongst themselves about whose fault it was. We were told the bottle was collected because it was turned upside down (a lie). They behaved as if we were trying to cheat and lie in order to get a free bottle. Eventually they tried to estimate how much was left in the bottle when it was disposed of (an impossible task) so they could give us a new smaller bottle equal to what they took from us. We said no, it was late at the restaurant was closing soon so we just wanted it removed from the bill. They offered 5€ (less than half the value of the bottle) off the bill. The whole experience was very uncomfortable and completely unnecessary so we agreed because it was clear they couldn’t be reasonable. Eventually when the bill came they only took off 4€. They didn’t even have the decency to follow through on what was agreed. The staff were unprofessional and management was non existent. The food here has set the lowest bar in the whole town. First of all the 2 waiters running around can’t manage the full restaurant properly. 1 meal was forgotten, and the waiting time for food was 40 min+. The meal in the photo was bland, potato pure felt made artificially with a powdery texture, pickles ruined the whole aesthetic and the 6 meatballs felt store bought. Tuna tartar had practically no taste, there wasn’t a slight hint of it being made fresh and honestly every meal was disappointing.
