Pizzeria Du Passage — Restaurant in Echternach

Mixing business with pleasure was my goal when I drove back from my training in The Netherlands to my home in Switzerland. While passing through the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg it hit me that I never visited Echternach, famous for it's procession. So let me now put Echternach on your map, not for the nice ancient rituals in this case, but for a food adventure that you MUST experience. My quick stop at Restaurant Pizzeria Du Passage, which is a much too humble name for this Mediterranean work of art made my trip unforgettable. The apero: we followed the suggestion of le maitre, my companion chose for a Copperhead gin with tonic based on clementines, fresh slices of clementines, rosemary and bay leaf, I was presented a Swiss gin with a tonic based on lemon, fresh lemon, dill and mint, not only the taste was exquisite, but definitely also the way the drinks were served, very elegant. Living in a small town just next to Echternach, I was delighted I finally found a place that delivered pizza. I have now ordered twice from them, and can say that the pizzas are great, but what is really the highlight are the desserts. I ordered crème brulée and tiramisu and I must say they were both outstanding. I am usually a little hesitant to get either one in restaurants as I have very seldomly really enjoyed restaurants’ renditions of either of these two traditional desserts, but I can say that even delivered desserts are fantastic.
