Steak-House — Restaurant in Echternach

It was our 34th anniversary and instead of a two star restaurant at home we decided on a weekend away. We booked a terrace table in Echternach Luxembourg for dinner but when we arrived, the head server told us due to the rain it would be better to sit inside so we agreed. She showed us to a corner at the back of the restaurant (which was empty). She was worried about our dog which we said we were bringing from the get go. We asked for the table near the front door with space for the dog and a breeze from the entry. The outside tables quickly filled up - seemed that regulars had no problem. The back tables inside never filled up as you can see from the photo. My husband ordered a bisques to start but our main course were brought first. The head server said she didn’t hear us… they brought the soup and then mains. Food was delicious just wish the service was too. Very much a local restaurant but then perhaps they shouldn’t...

dans les années 80 et 90, je venais souvent ici. Le chateaubriand à la sauce béarnaise était toujours très bon. La réservation par téléphone pour hier s'est déroulée de manière très peu professionnelle et à moitié. L'accueil et le service au restaurant étaient carrément impolis, on avait plus l'impression d'être un quémandeur qu'un client qui prévoit de dépenser un montant à trois chiffres pour un repas. Malheureusement, le plat souhaité n'a pas pu être commandé parce qu'il n'était « pas en stock », alors qu'il figurait sur la carte et qu'il était la véritable raison de notre visite.

D'ailleurs, c'est absolument gratuit de rendre la politesse et l'amabilité aux clients.

Vandaag hier gedineerd. In één woord geweldig. Het begon.met de heel sympathieke ontvangst van de eigenaar, Nederlands en Frans sprekend,ook onze hond was welkom zowel binnen als buiten. Aan tafel, bediend door twee heel aardige en mooi glimlachende serveersters. De eerste vraag was of de hond water moest hebben, natuurlijk en binnen de kortste keren een bak met water voor onze viervoeter, zelfs nog voor ons drankje 😃 Dan het eten, serieus nog noot zo lekker gegeten zowel mijn foux filet grilllet als de filet bouef tournedos van mijn vrouw waren grandioos.
