Nonbe — Restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette

We ordered sushi, maki, and sashimi and we got just different kind of sushis with higher price! Even though we asked the food directly from their menu! Also their food quality were average but overpriced, and far from what we tasted in Japan

Food is okay, restaurant interior is nice. Service is poor though, the waiter had mistake our order for which we didn’t mind and we ordered additional dish. He didn’t apologize which is fine too but he didn’t really came back again to check if we needed extra water or didn’t even ask if we want to order dessert (it was obvious that we were done with the main course). The manager is unbothered too.

It is sad that we were gaslighted, first - I specifically said “can you please serve the gyoza and tempura first?”; the waiter said “that’s it?” and I clarified that it’s two times tonkatsu. When the food was served at the same time, we did not complain at all. We know you are not a fast food what do you think of us? It only shows that our suspicion is correct, we were discriminated how come the waiter and manager went to same tables few times but not to us. I even raised my hands few times to call attention. who are you to raise integrity to our review because for you “we noticed the missing food only few mins after” No - I called attention, no one came, we discussed if we should even continue to ask for it after being ignored few times. Why do we need to wait to finish the one plate for one person before we order the missing one? Why does it sound that we should be completely grateful of the “the late minute reservation” when we are paying...

Yesterday we had an enjoyable dining experience at Nonbe. The highlight of the meal was the beef with onions, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Additionally, the sake selection was impressive, and the recommended variety complemented the dishes exceptionally well, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds.

But there were some areas that could be improved. The restaurant's design felt a bit dated and could benefit from a refreshing update to enhance the overall ambiance. Furthermore, the service was a bit slow, which affected the overall dining experience.

One aspect that left me slightly puzzled was the lack of clarity regarding the dress code. We took the time to dress appropriately for a more formal setting as mentioned on your webpage, only to observe other diners dressed in casual attire like summer shorts.
