We were 91 people having an end of the schoolyear dinner and Nyx was the venue that was selected by the organizing comitee. It started with the staff being completely overwhelmed with the orders at the aperitif. You had to keep an eye out or instead of the ordered champagne you’d get cheaper crèmant, instead of the ordered Hendricks gin a cheaper version. But the worst was still to come: in a restaurant prizing itself on its food and wine experience, we were presented with a wine card with a very restricted choice of white wines - 3 mediocre wines from Luxembourg and 2 from Greece … The Greek one we chose wasn’t served cold, with the « excuse » that their wine was stored on wineshelves exposed to the glare of the sun … Upon mentioning the restricted selection of white wines to the staff, we were presented with a different wine card … featuring French wines, among others. Then the entrees didn’t feature what was announced on the menu we chose … again, with a flimsy excuse that the food mentioned was meant to be « either … or … » (which it clearly and undoubtedly wasn’t), a choice we weren’t even asked to make. It was just assumed what we would like to have. The beef Wellington seemed to be the Chef’s interpretation of the classic dish, the fish totally lacked any sides … and during the course of the evening, the wine we finally settled on RAN OUT! The staff was clearly not very organized when serving the dishes or the beverages and clearing the tables seemed an insurmountable challenge, leaving plates on the table. We had to hold them up in order for them to see what needed to be cleared. The only good dish was one of the desserts, the fried apple pie with the cinnamon ice cream (althought the latter arrived half melted). During the entrees, the beverage cards were collected from all the tables. Upon enquiring we were told it was to make room and so the cards wouldn’t be tainted. The waitress even added twice that if I insisted, I could take the card home with me - a bitchy soundbite I personally could have done without! All in all a regrettable food and wine experience which will not be repeated at that restaurant! Poor service and quality for...
Read moreWe ordered a lunch menu from the RestoDays event. We had a carrot soup with croutons, and some fries with a flavourful seemingly homemade ketchup! The food was delicious! Only one thing I disliked: the mille-feuille wasn't that good as a dessert. I appreciated the creativity, but the dough was too oily and indeed, it wasn't the mille-feuille I had in my mind. In my opinion, it would be better to have a tiramisu on the menu, it is absolutely more Mediterranean than mille-feuille! Having been there with a friend, the dessert I tasted from my friend was mouth-weathering. Definitely, you should opt for the pastry with coconut sorbet as a dessert if you come here, it was so refreshing! The aubergine main dish and the sweet and salty feta with honey were astonishingly appetizing!! Amazing service and atmosphere! I adored the light volume of the music, having Taylor Swift on the background, which was delightful! Absolutely a cozy culinary...
Read moreTerrible place with incapable staff. We ordered in advance and eventually have been served something completely different. When we informed the waiters about it, they reacted in the most unprofessional way and made us responsable for their intensly poor performance. They seemed to be unorganized, but mostly overburdened. As we asked for the wine menu which this restaurant labels itself, the so-called wine expert only offered 3 white wines from the region that ultimately have been terrible. When asked about this, he said that people actually do drink more red wine. Moments later, we received a different menu, but the wine has been incredibly warm. The waiters explained this is due to the position of their wine cabinet which is thouroughly heated through the sun. As a result, the evening has been a terrible experience and the staff blamed us for it which is just a terrible disappointment and lead to this...
