Very bad service. I called a day before to make reservation at 6pm, the person who answered the call is a lady very confident said 6pm no need make reservation. Just come. Then I requested them to send me the menu via WhatsApp, which they have sent after the call. In the WhatsApp I did mention that I want to book a table with given booking details before they sent me the menu as well. However on actual day I went, before 6pm. It was full house. This is very disappointing. The staff ask me if I got make reservation, I said I did request for booking yet your side said 6pm no need. Usually 6pm is still very empty. (THIS IS NOT TRUE!!) I argued this, the staff asked me to go talk to their boss. Which I did. The boss attitude is very rude. A simple "apology" also didn't gave. Yet said, I'm not the one who speak to you on the phone. Hello!!! That's your official phone number. Regardless who is speaking to the guest on the phone is still representing your restaurant image. The way he replied is very rude. He said "I am not the who answering phone. You can see now no pace to seat also, I can't do anything. I can't help also." This is not the right way you treat your customer. Atleast a simple apology you should give to me. But NO, he didn't. Luckily there is a table leaving, we managed to be seated.
Upon arrival is already disappointing. When we wanted to place order, none of the staff is available. From far we saw 2 staff with the ipad, we raised our hands, they assume not see it. Till my brother went to them, then only managed to placed order. This is worst than eating in a kopitiam service. Fine after placed order, we waited for half an hour, drinks not arrived yet till we reminded. While waiting we grab the cutlery, plates & bowls ourselves cuz no one care to serve you. About 40mins after placed order, then only our food comes. (So slow!) Nevermind, we tahan.
Among the 5 dish we ordered, 1 of it is disappointing. The cereal prawn (麦片虾). This should be the most easy dish that won't go wrong. But it turns out a disappointing dish. No taste at all. The chef forgot to put seasoning?! Is properly fried with egg floss and deshelled, but NO TASTE. We wanted to call their supervisor to come over, at first one said wait she finish order for another table first. After she finished, pass by us. We called her with raised hands, no respond. We are being ignored. At last, my brother again bring the whole plate to the cashier to complaint. We wanted them to taste it themselves, they said they're too busy. Will ask the cook to taste later. And just deduct us the prawn price from our bill. I appreciate they don't charge us for the prawn, but their service is seriously terrible. We understand there is a lot of China tourist went there dine in, you have a lot of tables to serve. But not with that kind of bad attitude, especially we are local. We paid the same too!
My advice, if you want to dine in here. Be prepared to be waited 40mins for your food to arrived and not attentive staff to served you. Please make sure they made your reservation eventhough they said "no...
Read moreThe food wasn't bad. Definitely not the best I had but it was still alright.
The service of the place left much to be desired. It seems like everyone has a specific job or KPI and they are unwilling to do anything out of their scope. It took us almost 30 minutes just to order a can of coke until finally some foreign labourer who was the friendliest in the shop got us the drinks and apologised too.
Special mention about the aunty doing dumplings. She was rather rude as she just rudely throw some items that was apparently blocking her on our table. She could have told us nicely instead of just slamming it on our table. I have serious concerns on her hygiene too as she was preparing said dumpling without washing her hands. I cannot comment on her dumplings as I do not think I can stomach ordering from her.
I came here hoping for a more local experience compared to the restaurants in the town centre but I think it's not worth the hassle to...
Read moreAs a local, I’ve had the chance to visit this restaurant, which, despite branding itself as a Chinese eatery, leans more toward a seafood-focused menu. While it’s not located in the city center, it’s quite popular among Chinese tourists, likely due to its promotion on Xiaohongshu, a Chinese media platform.
I have to say, the seafood here is pretty good. The freshness and flavors do not disappoint, making it a worthwhile stop for anyone craving seafood. However, one downside is the constant flow of traffic right by the roadside, which can be a bit distracting and take away from the overall dining experience.
All in all, it’s a solid choice for seafood lovers, especially if you’re not too bothered by the hustle and bustle of...
