The food here is decent and for the most part does its job — it’s not the main issue. The real problem lies with the drinks service, and honestly, the entire system surrounding it needs to be purged and rebuilt from the ground up. Ordering and receiving drinks here feels unnecessarily complicated, slow, and disorganized.

In other cafés or restaurants, you can see how much smoother things run because they have already adopted modern systems — tablets at the tables, integrated ordering software, or even streamlined digital solutions that reduce mistakes and speed up service. Here, however, the process feels outdated and clunky. Drinks should be one of the simplest parts of the dining experience, yet they end up being the most frustrating.

I want to make it clear that I don’t blame the workers entirely. The staff are only trying to manage with the tools and systems that management has put in place. The problem is structural. When the system is inefficient, no amount of effort from the workers will fully fix it. This is why I strongly believe the responsibility falls back on management. It’s management’s job to ensure operations run smoothly, and right now, that’s not happening.

It’s also telling that when I look through other reviews, I notice a recurring theme — so many customers have mentioned the same thing about the drinks service. This isn’t just a one-off bad day or an isolated incident; it’s a consistent issue that has gone unaddressed for too long. If multiple customers are all pointing out the same weakness, that should be a red flag for management to act immediately.

And let’s be honest, the fact that orders are still written down on paper slips in 2025 is shocking. Paper orders are prone to errors, delays, and miscommunication, not to mention they give off the impression that the café is behind the times. If other places can modernize their service and make things easier both for staff and for customers, there is no reason why So Good Cafe cannot do the same.

So Good Cafe, if you truly want to improve your reputation and reduce customer complaints, the solution is clear: modernize and clean up the drinks service. Keep the food as it is — it works fine — but address the weak point that so many people are noticing and talking about. Customers don’t just come for food; they come for the full dining experience, and right now, the drinks side is dragging everything else down.

Good...

Much like other reviews, the drinks service is slow. The dry bak kut teh is my personal favourite here as it has a strong flavour and it is very affordable. The laksa is also delicious but it only opens at 9pm onwards and not sure which day is their off day as there is no operating hours at their stall.

Cha kueh is so so and it is not crispy nor crunchy. Kolo mee stall operates for long hours. Unfortunately, the tomyam claypot noodles from the claypot stall is diluted and has little to no flavour which was a let-down.

The pork satay is tender and juicy. The grilled honey chicken wings is pretty flavourful and grilled well. Pin Pin chicken rice stall is alright and affordable though the roasted...

Just bring your own water or drinks. That would be much faster than waiting for the servers to take your orders. Waited so long and every time we call someone, they told us to wait. And some of them are even just standing around/walking leisurely + taking orders painstakingly slow. Our drinks only came long after we finished eating.

Dh tau banyak orang pgi sini, please hire more people for night shifts. Morning time is okay-ish. Other than that, food choice is good. Please improve your service +...

(REPOST DUE TO ALLEGED UNKNOWN DELETION BY GOOGLE) Incident occurred in August 2023: Found a glass fragment in a cup and reported it to the cafe. We were forced to go to General Hospital Kuching late in the evening for a check-up, fearing we might have accidentally consumed glass fragments. KPDN reportedly visited the cafe afterward to ensure there were no more cups with fragments. Will repost again if it gets deleted — evidence is available.

I paid RM11.50 for a set of kolok mee and a bowl soup. I was terribly disappointed, they could not even serve me green scallion in their Kolok mee and Soup. This was not the first time. Many times said no green scallion. TF
