Horrendous experience. 'one of the only Chinese restaurants in kundasang' as a positive? If anything it means that someone else should open a restaurant because the bar is ten feet underground. The most obvious issue would be the flies. The 'flies season pls forgive' sign is almost laughable because seeing all the reviews on here, then every season is fly season. There was no efficient ventilation or attempt to drive away flies, leading to most appetites being ruined because I could not guarantee that there wasn't a fly instead of rice on my spoon when I brought it to my mouth.
Even if the flies weren't enough to ruin someone's appetite, the less than subpar food certainly was. We ordered 麦片鸡 (oat chicken(?) direct translation) and this was the first time I've seen someone actually sprinkle nestle oats on top of some measly fried chicken. Even saying 'fried' is an overstatement as the chicken was soft , squishy and slightly undercooked. Next we ordered oyster fried egg which they should rename it to vegetable fried egg instead and have a treasure hunt for us to find the oysters because there certainly wasn't any in the egg.Other than that, spicy sotong and 铁板豆腐 (tofu) were kinda bland and tasteless but not bad enough for me to have sarcastic jabs about it. Not even the drinks were refreshing as the passion fruit juice was like water with passion fruit seeds in it but the Sabah tea was fine. Hard to appreciate the drink as well when you see it spilled across the floor when entering the restaurant.
For the cherry on top, this barely edible dinner came to a total of RM140 for a 5 person meal. Mind you even ignoring the bad food the servings were small as well.
Not reccomended at all, might as well buy Maggie hot cup and bread from a speedmart nearby and eat it in your hotel room if you're on a trip here than touch this place with a ten foot pole.

The food is eatable but not as “wow” as expected. Didn’t try the strawberry dish because some of them said it’s too sweet.
Fried mushroom too oily, seaweed soup too salty. But the time for food to serve is fast. The strawberry juice taste like those strawberry that is dried and coated with sugar. I expect it to be refreshing but nah.
Service wise, the owner is super friendly but the staff is rude, menjeling lagi kau sama sya moi. I know your job is not easy but I don’t know what I do to deserve your “unfriendly” eyes. We just request to light up the candle and you act like we owe u money.
Anyway, this place is got too many flies. It’s too much that I’m getting worried whether the food is safe or not. Definitely not too comfy to sit in. And yes I understand as the owner did explained that they have this problem, idk is seasonal or what, but i believe there should be a solution to this. Although the candle to help a bit but I think there’s better way.
Last but not least, ventilation was not that good inside, they do provide fan but it’s not helping at all.

At the end to make things better, the lady (not sure who) was yelling in bad words cause we reconfirmed the price. Workers are rude. If you are not ready to take a last minute order, should have informed earlier as we have other options to go. The man just said the woman who was yelling was mentally ill? I'm amused you keep her to take care the cashier. I would rate this shop NEGATIVE STAR for attitude, customer service and food.
