This is a view from someone who was brought up in a kampung in Kelantan but was privileged enough to have travelled the world. We stayed in the superior chalet with king size bed (S2 & S3), at the top end of the resort, with uninterrupted view of Kinabalu and Kundasang. Do make an effort getting up at 6am to enjoy the benefit of cloudless view of Mt Kinabalu, you won't be disappointed. The resort itself is not that large, all of the chalets comes with sufficient parking outside. They have put a lot of effort to make the resort look nice and if you are into flowers there are busy lizzies, crocuses, hydrangeas, spider plants, passion flowers, various orchids, bougainvilleas, amaryllis etc. As you would imagine, the resort is very hilly so you must take this into consideration if you have an elderly or a disabled person in your party. The actual superior chalet is decent enough, just don't expect 4 or 5 stars treatment. The bed is comfy, there is hot water for shower and over the sink, TV with 4 or 5 channels, a balcony shared with next door room, limited supply of tea, coffee, sugar and milk so please feel free to bring your own. In our opinion, you might be best booking your room with breakfast and dinner as they are considered good value for money. There is limited selection of restaurants outside the resort, most are in such a state enough to make your stomach churning. Kundasang is a tiny town with lots of vegetable stalls but the actual business park is in dire need of a makeover; the road to Kundasang is awful and the road around the actual business park is virtually non existence. On the plus side it has a mosque and a KFC, if you're into that...

Majestic view with mediocre facilities.

Checking in My tour guide is the one who check in for us so it takes roughly around 20 mins. But we arrived at around 5-ish pm so it's not a rush hour. The reception is right next door to the restaurant and small convenience store.

Room We got a D2 and D4 room that is located downhill and at the very back. No car park available for our room but it's fine bcs our driver park somewhere else. Stepping inside you'll notice the very musty and damp smell of the room. Not quite sure if it's the furniture / toilet / the carpet / mix of those. The bed is quite nice. No aircond provided because this is a hilly and chilly area. Hot water available but the bathroom tile is way toooo cold to even step on. Has a veranda with two chair that you can lounge around at sunset / sunrise. Had a good night sleep too due to tiredness i guess.

Restaurant The restaurant is downstairs (3 sets of stairs) that is quite easy to be missed on to. as there are quite of fleet of stairs, kids / elders had a hard time to commute each time. Our rooms are included of dinner and breakfast set. Both dishes are decent but the seafood ain't that fresh as per i expected (bcs it's Sabah so my expectation is a bit high)

Staff -Very helping and full with smiles. The restaurant staff is full of smiles and answers to all my query very well. I felt very welcomed here. I request for an iron from the receptionist and 10 mins later it arrived.

VIEW SPLENDID. You need to be lucky i guess to have the luck of seeing a very clear / not rainy Mt. Kinabalu. It's very breath taking and makes the 2 hour journey in a rocky...

Stayed for one night, last minute booking via direct Whatsapp. Room rate is fixed for whole year, and no sudden increase of rate even with last minute booking. (I booked 1 day before stay).

Booked Superior Deluxe room, located at highest point of the resort. Parking is available although tight. Road to parking is not so steep. You park just infront your own room.

I got room S3, and neighboring room S4 was vacant. Had the large balcony to ourselves. View is magnificient Mount Kinabalu directly in front of your eyes. Staffs are very nice, they are all local people. Deposit RM200, can OR or cash (I think quite a lot of money)

Garden is clean, well maintained, unexpectedly well pruned. Pine trees are gorgeous, some are cut to give way for Mount Kinabalu view to guest.

Room: Spacious, with TV, water heater, wall fan. No air cond as it is highland. One card key, dont miss it or leave in room. Switches are manual, no need to insert card key at wall

Dinner & Breakfast provided. I guess hard to find dinner in this area if you dont have transport. Given vouchers for dinner & breakfast. Dinner menu are fixed and changed daily. But can add on separate order. Strawberry milkshake is nice. For breakfast, need to inform waiter on what menu you want for breakfast during the dinner time. So they can prepare early for tomorrow. I ordered American breakfast. Was okay. Beverage like tea, coffee are local made and free flow. Can order other beverage separately.

Excellent and convenient stay, will definiely stay here everytime I...

Stayed at one of the downstairs room by the bbq place. Bbq smoke from the bbq area will come into the room through the unsealed part of the door. The next door neighbour’s cigarette smoke will come into the room so has to keep the window closed all the time. Bathroom has no fan, so it is foggy after shower. Carpet is old and with iron stains, it will be better if the unpleasant old carpet is taken out and replaced with other flooring that is not carpet. Upstairs room is loud with kids running around. I can hear the neighbours walking around in their room beside mine. I am sure they can hear my movements in my room as well. super thin walls. And this downstairs room has no view of the mountain, loud vehicles from the road can be heard from the room as well. I guess I am expecting too much for RM280/night

Based on the reviews I'd read online, I quickly booked this resort (please contact them directly to book) to get myself rooms for my family. Most (if not all) rooms have Mount Kinabalu views from the front door and I managed to get a glimpse of the majestic Mount Kinabalu in the morning along with the sunrise (around 6am) for an hour or so before the cloud started to form and block the mountain. The room was carpeted and clean, breakfast was nothing to shout at (same restaurant also provide lunch and dinner is you feel lazy to go out), with karaoke room and a bar (just ask around). Reception staffs are mostly helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely night’s stay at Kinabalu Pine, and our D2 Standard Room offered a beautiful view of the majestic Mount Kinabalu - right in front of us the moment we opened our door in the morning! The hotel surroundings have the Alpine feel too, with the many pine trees surrounding the area (giving the property its name) as well as a small playground and rabbit house, where we could pet the noses of some of these gentle animals. As for dining, we had a steamboat dinner as well as breakfast at the on-site Pine Restaurant. Both meals were not too bad, even if we enjoyed the dinner more than the next day’s dishes actually!
