If you plan to come here, ask yourself two questions. Where are you coming from. What are you coming here for.
I ask myself what's so special here. If you drive along the main road from jalan teluk bahang to jalan balik pulau, you will notice a large number of stalls selling durian. Most of them are spartan. Just stalls with simple functional tables for you to sit at. Only durian and some fruits, usually no other food to eat otherwise. Mostly hot and humid.
Here, meanwhile, they try to elevate the experience. This is what you come for. And pay for. Of course, they don't allow you to go into the farm to explore it, for safety reasons. But they have made the eating area quite nice to eat at. They have outdoor tables nestled between the huge trees (with netting to protect the diners) where you can take your time eating durian and food from the cafe. The environment is relaxing and a far cry from the other usual stalls you see dotted along the road.
The also have an air conditioned cafe where you can enjoy a cool place to enjoy your cafe food but no durian allowed within the air con area (for obvious reasons). Their cafe food is surprising delicious. They probably cater to the people who were paksarela to follow the durian lovers, who aren't themselves durian lovers. At least there's something for these niche diners to eat.
If you can tolerate spice, I must suggest you try the tomyam prawn pasta. The explosion of taste is incredible. Superbly cooked but spicy. Even the duck in the oglio olio is well seasoned. The carbonara cream is well cooked with a great gravy thickness and flavour. The mantou was average but the French toast, chicken popcorn and salted egg fries were genuinely delicious. I must say I was pleasantly surprised.
As for the durian, nothing beats fresh durian. No matter how great you can pack and vacuum durian, eating it fresh if possible is the ultimate way to go. The price here is fair and the durian is heavenly. There's also nice wash basin to wash your hands and a dedicated place for toilet unlike other simpler stalls elsewhere.
In summary, you come here for a package of experience to enjoy fresh durian, nice environment and concurrent lovely non...

I looooove cafe hopping. Admire decoration, tengok view sekeliling dan ambil OOD hahaha! I’ve been to few cafes, and i can say this cafe stole my heart sooo much! ♥️ One of the best cafe with mesmerising view! Lemme help to describe!
Parking space, plenty of it! You akan jumpa uncle jual durian dulu kat entrance. They have cakes, western servings, and drinks. Which as for us, we thought of having breakfast somewhere else and this is not the spot. We were actually just passing by and accidentally found this hidden 💎 ! So kami order a cake and a drink wat raso raso 😋
They have few settings; industrial shelter air conditioned space with modern aesthetics outdoor space dengan bumbung cute (ada 🐓roaming freely!) air conditioned tree house (you need to climb using stairs - then you get an access to mini jambatan pokok???)
Every spot is beautiful and worth a pic! 😭😭 unfortunately, we were just stopping by so we couldn’t spend time there. Very peaceful. Dan korang boleh nampak itik kuak lentang dekat dalam kolam dari pandangan atas pokok 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Please datang sini if you plan on visiting Penang! Tempat agak jauh dari kehidupan, tapi sangat tenang....
Read moreStopped here for a quick coffee whilst driving around Penang island. It's a higher end coffee shop on a durian farm that also has a couple of rooms to stay in, at premium prices.
The menu is interesting offering a lot of unique drinks. We paid about 44myr and got a coconut milk latte, sweet potato latte and a white coffee. This includes a 10% service charge, so it's not cheap, but it's in an interesting location with no competition and has a lot of investment in the grounds.
The coffee quality was pretty good overall. I prob would not get the sweet potato latte again having tried it, but it was nice and refreshing.
Plenty of seating and lovely grounds that are well maintained but still under construction around the pond area. Once it's finished this would be even nicer to relax in. They have covered tables, a room with AC and various garden seating areas. An elevated viewing platform is available to reserve in advance for big groups.
There are free toilets and ample parking. The toilet block is new and quite clean.
Big warning, the mosquitos here are ferocious. A quick walk in the garden and you will be quickly assaulted so wear long clothing or apply bug spray...
