Friendly, vibrant Chef & team welcome us with warmth. Clean & comfortable sitting, cool relax vibes. Not fine dining but the plating & presentation of every dish was definitely fine dining standards. The creativity & efforts they put into each dish were remarkable! Watching the team in action was also a treat.

My 2 favourite dishes were: 2nd appetiser -Lap Cheong(Chinese sausage), Pork floss, Brie & Cream cheese layered with Popiah skin SOOOOO GOOOOD!

1st dessert- Tomato kefir lime foam (BRILLIANT), Pineapple sorbet with olive oil, Dehydrated luncheon meat-Experimental- sweet & savoury dessert(think fries with Sunday) with a zing!!

Chef said they used to be more bold & into experimental dishes, but they’ve toned down for the gen pop. I fully understand from a business standpoint & appreciate their artistic talents & creativity. I look forward to experience the true Chef Wei...

Overall it was a great experience with A Maze. It’s a no menu course meal dining experience with alcohol pairing (RM248 nett). It’s an open kitchen dining, so you get to see chefs preparing food in-front of you and seeing them preparing dishes is pretty enjoyable. I would say it’s more like a private kitchen dining, ingredients sourced wasn’t in the very top tier, but the chefs do did a very good job in cooking it and skilled in mixing around with these ingredients. They’re also open in sharing some tips and tricks on the dishes they prepared. If you have any dietary restrictions, you may inform them in advance and they will customise other dishes for you. Among what I had, I like the second main dish - beef, second dessert - hazelnut cake with chocolate ice cream, and the first appetiser - trio...

This is the best among my favorite western restaurants in Penang. I am very satisfied with their quality of service (friendly and professional), tasty and unique food which can't be found elsewhere. This is my first experience of not knowing what's my next dish (decided by Chef). They allowed me to state what kind of food I don't want (during booking time). This is my first time of not able to share dish names as there isn't any. The Chefs explained to me all the main ingredients contained in the dish they serve (down to details on salt and pepper). Their package comprised of 9 dishes (from starter, main course and dessert with few different drinks). They moved from Nagore Square to here (Pekaka). Their parking lots is now well light up...
