Family was craving for hako bak (mantis shrimp) and so decided to give this southern tip of Penang seafood restaurant a try, after being recommended to it by a local Grab driver. Quite a drive from Georgetown, but it was well worth the journey and time.
Food was delish and value for money. Ordered mantis prawn in 2 flavours. Our preference is the salted egg version vs sweet sour. Full of salted egg goodness and still crispy!
The chicken satay is delish too. Tender and full of flavour. We really loved the galangal marinade that coats through the meat. Meat cuts are our type, a mix of lean and thigh chunks with skins! And it's generous per stick.
The 4 heavenly kings come with a super sambal, spicy without being overly spicy, yet with a flavourful umami punch.
Fried belachan chicken wings are also a winner! Full-bodied in flavour and tender!
The one that evokes a divisive opinion, is the steamed lime lala. I loved the clear gravy, made from combi of cili padi, lime juice and Pandan. I love it. But the rest thought it's too limey... (Like Mama Lemon ๐)
Nice sunset view and windy. Service is prompt and pleasant, not rushed. Ask for recommendations. The staff also helped to suggest portion size, so that we don't over order and stuff ourselves silly. I suspect it's run by the same extended family.
Will I be back again? That's a...

This is a non-halal seafood restaurant that caters to the locals and also the tourists that ventured far south of the island.
The restaurant only opens at 5.30pm and they only pick up the phone call around 4.30pm. They do not do reservations but there are plenty of tables in the restaurant.
The ambiance is ok. Make shift tables, concrete flooring and wooden roofs make this place a real โlocalisedโ Chinese seafood restaurant feel.
Be prepared for lizards on the roof and flies but otherwise their food is good and fresh. If you are looking for specific dishes such as giant mantis prawn pe stir fried oyster-egg, best to call in advance to check if they have stock of the food.
Communication might be an issue as the staff mainly speaks mandarin and hokkien with a little bit of Cantonese.
Be on the look out for their restaurant signage because it is a sharp turn into a gravel road besides a...
