Tasty, comfy food for lunch is the best. As a first timer, I asked my friend for recommendations. He ordered each of us a Tomato rice banana leaf meal with sides of Fried bitter gourd and Special chicken to share. Tomato rice Banana leaf meal. What will you get? For RM12, you'll get tomato rice, 3 sides of veggies and papadam. 3 types of curry (dhal, fish and chicken) were given to eat with the rice. You can let them know how much rice and sides you want them to serve. It's slightly on the expensive side for me, even though you can add more rice. But no complaints, as the rice was flavourful with spices and tomato taste. Fried bitter gourd. One of my favourites. RM7 per plate. Crunchy, and well seasoned with no bitterness at all. Special chicken. Honestly, it's not that special to me. It tastes similar to what we cook at home (if you cook Indian dishes). For RM11, I don't think I'll repeat this again. Overall, it was a good experience dining there. We arrived 20 mins before serving time and yet they greeted us warmly and had us seated. A waiter quickly came to take our orders and drinks arrived shortly after. Even after we had finished our meal, an uncle came to check with us whether the food was okay. Amazing customer service. I really love their tomato rice and will definitely go there again for that. Perhaps next time I will order other dishes to eat with the rice. For Muslims, you can dine there with confidence as they're certified Halal (saw the cert but didn't take picture).

Passion of Kerala in Gelugor never fails to impress! The chicken masala was rich and flavorful, the fried bawal was fresh and crispy, and the fried brinjal added a wonderful touch. The fish curry and chicken curry were spot-on, paired beautifully with fluffy rice and exceptional coconut-peanut chutney. To finish, the ais bandung was refreshing, and the mango lassi was thick, creamy, and full of fruity goodness. A big thank you to Jaya anne, whose warm and heartfelt service made our visit truly special. His genuine hospitality and care truly shine through. Thank you, anne, for your wonderful service, you made our day! Wishing the entire team a Happy New Year. Kudos to everyone for maintaining such high standards. Highly recommend this gem for an authentic and satisfying Indian Banana Leaf Meal❤️

Status: Temporarily close now , sharing last visit : recommend the banana leaf set at Passions of Kerala! It was so delicious and you are served a lot of food. A huge banana leaf is placed in front of you like a placemat, which serves as your plate. Then, you are scooped some white rice and 4 vegetarian dishes: papadom, morro, rassam, and dhall curry. You can order tomato rice instead of white rice for a small charge. Your server will come to you table with a bucket of rice and a holder with four dishes (that spins). The server will rotate the spinning holder so that the dish he serves is closer to the banana leaf, for easier serving.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Passions Of Kerala in Gelugor, Penang, and it was an extraordinary culinary experience! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that transported me straight to Kerala.

The highlight of my visit was, of course, the authentic Kerala cuisine served on fresh banana leaves. Each dish was a burst of flavors and spices, a true celebration of Kerala's rich culinary heritage. The fragrant rice, the mouthwatering curries, and the tenderly cooked meats and vegetables all left me craving for more.

The staff here is exceptionally knowledgeable and guided me through their menu with patience, helping me choose dishes that suited my taste. I highly recommend trying their traditional Kerala thali for a complete culinary journey.

What truly sets Passions Of Kerala apart is their commitment to using the finest and freshest ingredients, ensuring that every bite is a delight. The attention to detail in presentation is also commendable, making every meal not just delicious but also a visual treat.

The restaurant's tranquil setting in Brown Garden adds to the overall experience, providing a serene escape from the bustling city. Whether you're a local or a visitor to Penang, Passions Of Kerala is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to savor the authentic flavors of Kerala.

I left Passions Of Kerala with a full belly, a satisfied heart, and a craving to return for more. Kudos to the entire team for bringing a slice of Kerala to Penang! I can't wait to dine here again and explore more of their...

I recently dined at Passion of Kerala in Penang, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely delicious—one of the best Indian meals I've ever had! I ordered the banana meal set, which was fantastic. The side dishes, especially the fried tenggiri sambal and egg burji, complemented the meal perfectly.

The customer service was impressive; the staff treated us well and were attentive throughout our visit. The ambience was a highlight, capturing the essence of Kerala's culture with beautiful decor that really set the vibe for the meal.

Cleanliness was well-maintained, adding to the overall positive experience. To top it all off, the prices were reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food and service. If you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine, I highly recommend...
