Possibly the best Zi char / seafood restaurant I tried - not a single dish disappointed.
Must try: • Char Kway Teow - dish arrived smelling of intense wok hey, covered in cockles, and so savoury, elevated further by finely chopped pork lard
Highly notable dishes: • Veal - really tender and the meat really absorbed the flavors of the sauce • Fried frog leg - although not conventional, the fry of the frog legs were so crisp without destroying the texture of the meat • Fish - HK style, fish was so fresh that the meat was firm yet juicy, almost to the point of sweetness with each bite • Salted egg sauce (crab) - Usually salted egg sauce for other restaurants would be grainy and overpowering, but this salted egg sauce was mellow yet draws you in for the next mouthful, perfect with the mantou!
For dishes that were not mentioned, it does not mean that they weren’t good, they are definitely above average, just that I did not find a need to describe them in detail

Read moreMy first experience here was good. I came around 7pm at dinner time. It is fully packed with customers. It is good to make reservations before visiting, but it doesn't take too long for us to wait for an available table too.. roughly takes about 20min in my visit.
For what I ordered the taste is a little bit heavy but overall is yummy. The fish head I ordered was nice and fresh. The one crab is kinda pricey for the price of RM140 but it's nice to have once in awhile.
It doesn't take too much time for them to serve the food. The service is good, for what we ask and request it doesn't take too long to come.
About the environment, a typical restaurant environment.
About the parking space, it's kinda limited but at dinner time you can park at the roadside as long as it doesn't obstruct the traffic.
Overall it's a nice place to visit to have dinner with family/friends...

Went to Zhen wei around 1pm for lunch with my family . Ordered the Char Kway Teow, Spareribs king, sambal kangkong, crab roe tofu and fried cuttlefish. The spareribs king had a weird tasting sauce. The fried cuttlefish was overly salty, the rest are good. I told the owner's son about it. Instead of finding out what happened, he went to the other table (who also ordered the same cuttlefish) and told the customer that my table feedback about the cuttlefish being salty. Nothing was said thereafter.
I made payment and left. Standard food n service wise are always inconsistent. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Probably will be the last time i will go. Previous occasion i found metal scrub in my food there n show the lady boss, poor hygiene.
Service is getting worse. Food quality consistency is...
