Destesen Kopitiam — Restaurant in Johor

Interior is designed with a good traditional kopitiam look with solid furniture and post-futuristic fans. Menu is not very broad, but sufficient. Today we had dip-fried egg-covered tauhu [tofu] - absolutely amazing, with a freshly prepared sambal kicap [fresh chili blended with the sweet soy sauce]; nasi lemak kosong [without chicken or fish] that delighted me with its moderately sweetened sambal, but, unfortunately the two slices of cucumber that were on the plate were terribly spoiled - an unacceptable act of negligence; kaya butter toast was very much not what I am used to see in kopitiams: instead of cold sliced stripes of butter with kaya between two warm thin crunchy breads I was served an inch (~2.5 cm) thick square white bread with butter and kaya randomly spread on top. If this is how they do in Segamat it is not my favourite kaya butter toast; egg plate for kids was of an higher-than-average quality - an omlette filled with red bell peppers and some cheesy substance, two grilled sausages, baked beans and another slice of the inch-bread. Staff is friendly and attentive, so overall experience is great, however the spoiled cucumbers do not allow me to give this place today anything more than two stars. I hope this was an exception and not...

not recommended. i think so-called chef should proper trained well before handle dapur, or not ur client will jump to food poisonous pula. Daging burger homemade tak masak bhg tgh2 daging. Sos cili rasa basi, but the answer we received from pelayan "itulah dia rasanya" "kalau mcm tu, kita bg masak balek". hm. spoil habis. overated and overpriced. we go home with disappointed taste on our buds. what i saw, from cashier, chef, pelayan... bukan org dewasa...

The staff are all friendly and nice...but the owner is rude! i went to the shop to get the drinks,I HAVE ALREADY PAY AT THE COUNTER,AND I HEADED OUT FROM THE SHOP,THE OWNER SITTING OUTSIDE WITH HIS FRIEND AND HIS STAFF STANDING NEXT TO HIS TABLE,HE POINTING FINGER AT ME AND LOOK AT HIS STAFF ASKING "DAH BAYAR?" LIKE SERIOUSLY YOU THINK I WOULD RUN AWAY WITH THAT DRINKS THAT COST LESS THAN RM5 ?? THAT IS RUDE BEHAVIOUR......
