Loco Boys — Restaurant in Johor

Where do I begin.. I’ve been wanting to try this place cos I keep seeing their videos on TikTok and I finally did last Saturday. It’s Tuesday today and I’m still thinking about the tacos I had 🥹🤤😍

Ordered the mixed tacos which had 1 chicken and 1 beef. To my surprise, I actually preferred the chicken. It was so flavourful and also had a nice spicy kick to it. The beef was good too but a little dry. I LOVE how generous they are with the filling and toppings like tomatoes, onions and cilantro. The Birria dip was really flavourful, just wish it came hot and not at room temperature.

The Birria mozza was really good too. I’m still trying to figure out how they stuffed it with the beef. 😂 It came with ranch which was perfect as it balances out the richness of the tacos and mozza. The butter soda was yummy! Tasted like soda with a creamy vanilla foam on top.

Everything came up to RM45 which was a STEAL considering the quality and portions. The atmosphere really made me feel like I was in a cute Mexican diner with Spanish songs playing in the background. The decorations were really nice too. They have clean toilets and taps to wash your hands both inside and outside the store.

Revisit. Managed to catch them at their original location at Adda Heights. Thankfully queue wasn’t long and got the orders made in good time. Only got the beef because the chicken was still not in shreds like the beef. It still tastes as good after a day out and back home.

Have been wanting to try their birria tacos for the longest time. Checked the socmed before heading and found out they will be at a pop up event at Tebing. Ordered taken was fast and took about 10 mins before getting the tacos. Ordered the mix to have a try at both meats. Beef was superb. Flavours were on point. Just like the ones I’ve had in Mexico. Would really wise to have a bit more garnish and it would be a good birria. Chicken wise, didn’t really enjoy as much. Chicken has not much flavour and wasn’t shreds like the beef. Used to be our go-to spot, and we used to love the biria tacos so much. However, we’re disappointed by the reduction in quantity and quality after ordering two sets of biria tacos. Honestly, we were not aware of the changes, and it caught us by surprise when there were only two tacos in the box. At this point, the price of RM9.50 for a single taco doesn’t make sense anymore… although they did mention on their TikTok account that you’ll get a bigger taco with more ingredients, to be fair, nothing really changed. The other thing we noticed was that the beef chunks weren’t shredded properly and were very chewy. More beef doesn’t mean you can just put big chunks in a single taco 😭 I think they should have at least reduced the price to match the quantity of the tacos.
