This is probably one of the better restaurants I’ve tried in Segamat. It was my first visit, and I was quite impressed with the quality of the food. We came here during the Qing Ming Festival to enjoy a lovely dinner with relatives.
A few standout dishes include the signature fried rice with whitebait — each grain was perfectly cooked and not clumped together. We also had the steamed Batin fish with a simple soy sauce and garlic bits, which was nicely done. The Mongolian-style grilled pork ribs had good flavor, though they were a bit too fatty for my taste. However, the accompanying marinated sour plum turnip strips complemented the richness of the meat quite well.
The fried duck with Sichuan spicy sauce was delicious — the skin was crispy, and the meat well-seasoned. The steamed river big head prawns with egg white, on the other hand, were just average. The prawn meat lacked sweetness and was slightly overcooked.
The homemade tofu was a pleasant surprise — silky, flavorful, and paired beautifully with the fried rice. Unfortunately, the usual local greens, especially my favorite 青龙菜 (water spinach), were underwhelming and a bit bland.

We ordered Mongolian spare ribs, steam groupa and we specially informed the person who took the order to give small fish, yam basket, ginger chicken and two types of garlic fried vegetables. All dishes were tasted good except the steamed gruopa which is tough, thick meat n it appear as a portion of big size fish. However the final bill was rm150 with the fish alone cost rm150. Read moreCame at 1pm as there were no crowd, first time here, ordered 3 dishes for 2 paxs, greeted by a female chinese staff, service below average cos the 2 plates of rice found dead ants inside, we can accept if 1 or 2 ants but ants easily sighted on the whole plate of rice, asked to change but came back same problem n the staff showed me an expression as if I planted the ants.
