Sofie Cendol is located right next to Nasi Kandar Under The Tree, hence I loitered next door to kaypoh a bit. To my surprise, they specialise in Cendol, so this was perfect for an after lunch dessert. We ordered the Cendol Special and Cendol Durian... The Cendol Special was really quite... UNspecial. 😅 It consists of green cendol, red bean, cream of corn, and glutinous rice. The sticky rice made it exceptionally heavy, and I didn't really enjoy the concoction. The Cendol Durian was a surprise hit though. Initially, we ordered 2 x Cendol Special but we saw (and smelled) bowls of Cendol Durian ordered and I swapped our order to 1 x Cendol Special and 1 x Cendol Durian. Note to self : next time just go straight for the Cendol Durian! It's good enough for me to head back for more! The encik generously topped 3 durian seeds on top of the cendol + ice and that made the entire dessert taste like a scoop of heaven. The shaved ice is a bit coarse and hard (not bingsu snowy soft), so I waited for it to melt into a puddle before drinking it like some crunchy soup with slivers of durian flesh with each mouthful. Wow. It was JUST. SO. GOOD. I'm having my coffee break now and I still can't forget the cendol durian I had post lunch. WARNING!! Cendol Durian results in amnesia... I can't remember anything else I had before that. Lunch was that forgettable! 😂 Cendol Special : Rm 5 Cendol Durian: Rm 7.50 I would happily return for another serving of Cendol Durian on my next trip to JB!

Love it! Wide variety of food from mee goreng, nasi goreng, nasi lemak to nasi kerabu. Tried the Cendol Durian (RM7.50) — creamy, rich, and served with 2 fleshy durians! Also got a fritters platter — you can mix pisang, keledek, and keropok lekor. We had keledek & pisang, both sweet and soft, paired with a spicy sambal kicap that packs a punch. JB goreng pisang never disappoints! Ended with Mango Sticky Rice, a perfect afternoon tea treat.
