5-star because there are really some good stuff in this somewhat huge food court at Tampoi, JB.
If you're asking for suggestions, these are the must-trys: • Nasi Lemak (RM9) - easily the best Chinese-style Nasi Lemak you can get in JB. For rice 🍚, choose from white/pandan/coconut rice. The fried chicken 🍗 (ayam goreng) is crispy, but you can also opt for ayam rendang (the curry is really oomph!) or ayam kari (curry chicken). The set meal comes with fragrant sambal ikan bilis, side dishes of stir-fry cabbage, half an half-boiled egg and timun. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Economy Rice 🍚🥦🍗🍳🐷🐟🦑 - Their economy price may be one of the cheapest you can find in JB town. They have almost 20-30 different dishes which are usually prepared fresh daily. A set of rice, 2 vege and dishes usually set me back at RM7-8 -ish. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ JB Laksa aka Curry Mee 🍜: There's a stall selling Laksa whose broth really packs a punch, and with assorted ingredients including "si ham" (cockles). Fried Oyster 🍳🦪 (RM12) - It's rare to find good "oh chien" in JB but the Uncle serves one that's pretty decent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
These are the ones that I feel don't live up to expectations: Wanton Noodles: The black sauce was too salty, the chilli tasted weird, the ingredients too little.
Their drinks are quite "gao" especially the Kopi or Teh Peng (RM2.60). There's air-conditioned dining section if you prefer, otherwise plenty of open-air seats available. Parking should not...

Read moreUnhygienic Practices at TW Food Court
I’ve been a regular at TW Food Court, but I need to address an issue that is hard to overlook. On multiple occasions, I’ve witnessed the hawker lady at the bubur cha cha stall washing her dentures and spitting on the plates right at the washing area, which is open and located near the seating area. This is highly off-putting for customers who are there to enjoy their meals, and it’s not something anyone should have to witness while eating.
This repeated behavior is unacceptable, and the food court management should step in. It’s crucial that hygiene standards are maintained, and the owner should request that the hawker lady wash her dentures in the restroom, out of sight from diners. Such practices can easily spoil one’s appetite and could affect the overall reputation of the food court if not corrected.
I hope the management addresses this...
