We are nearby residents visited the cafe regularly. However this particular staff seems to REPEATEDLY gave bad encounters experience to us . Visited 4 times, we had 3 times bad experience with her serving us . The rubbish car passing by and a friend of my wanted to close the door to minimise bad smell, she refused it; We came in a group wished to separate bills but sitting in one table, her excuse was no place to put some many paper bills ( what a stupid excuse) ; other young man from this same cafe cashier have no problem with our billing; visited 园芳,好好面,娇姐等cafe , they have no billing issue with our big group ppl . We sitting one table at 8:30am then she asked us to move away from the table bcoz customers came and moved away but not by official reservation system Ask us to pay all bills before food ;
My other friends who visited since opening here earlier, she also have many more bad encounters by this PARTICULAR staff ; my friend who didn’t speak out in social media; i am speaking for her and myself; hope this can be improved;
Even if you are the big boss of the cafe ; giving good experience to customers is your service industry job; if you continue to give bad experience to customers; good business eventually will eventually become...
Read moreThe ambiance at Yuan’s The Malaya is warm and welcoming, and the decor has a nice balance of modern and traditional touches. The service was polite, though a bit slow during peak hours
~Doughnut with ham, cheese, and egg: Surprisingly good! The soft, slightly sweet doughnut paired well with the savory fillings. A fun, satisfying bite.
~Nasi lemak with potato and luncheon meat: Comforting and nostalgic. The sambal had decent heat, and the crispy potato and luncheon meat gave it a nice twist. Solid dish.
~Dry char siew egg noodle with wonton: This was a letdown. Noodles were fine, but the char siew lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The wontons didn’t leave much impression either — a bit bland overall.
~Hainan bread with kaya: Simple and enjoyable. The toast was fluffy with a nice crisp edge, and the kaya was smooth and not too sweet.
~Teh: Decent cup — milky and comforting, though not particularly memorable.
Some creative, enjoyable dishes, but the wonton noodles and char siew need work. Worth checking out for the other items, especially if you're in the mood for local comfort food...
Read moreTheir "speciality" Yong Tau Foo is served COLD, below body temperature. Looks like they didn't bother to warm up the food before serving. I ditched another star for the cold food. It's a roulette where.food are good, and some are awfully bad. Portions are reasonable at the price point.
Host and hostess doesn't greet you "Good morning" or "Hello, how may I help you?", instead saying "How many person you have?" and the customers are the ones greeting them first. Pretty much your mood is ruined early morning.
The wall trimmings are dusty as f&ck, the restroom runs out of tissues.
If you are eco friendly, maybe consider getting a hand dryer. Chefs and food preps should wear disposable gloves improve hygiene. Some servers are wearing gloves, but not all. Food preps, and chefs never wear gloves.
Attitude of staffs towards customers should be improved too, they all work like robots. Your corporate office is right across the street, and you can pay rent and employ staffs, but don't be cheapskates on training staffs and improving customers service and...
