AORORA — Restaurant in Kedah

30032021 - My first time here with my sister. Blindly walk in without knowing what sort of food served here. Surrounding area was simple neat and clean. Meet and greet by the staff upon entering the restaurant. Very humble and friendly staff. Looking at the menu, it's western asian choice. Ordered my dish as recommended by the staff.

Spaghetti Curry Butter Milk - surprise me more... taste so good. The creamy spicy sauce blend in nicely. Makes you want to eat more.

Spaghetti Bolognese Meatball - those meatball lovers.. come and taste this great bolognese sauce. Fresh and tastier meatball.

Nescafe Dolce - another surprise... Calling all coffee drinker... Strong and smooth. Never regret ordering it. In fact I'll be back for this Nescafe Dolce of yours.

Ice Lemon Tea - fresh and perfect taste. Mellowness of the tea blend well with the fresh squeezed lemon.

Wanted to order the dessert but I'm totally full. Shall I put special hashtag here... #makansampaisengkak If you asking me why I give such hashtag, its because the portions on every plate served will satisfy those in hunger mode.

The location is nice. Simple and cozy place. They do provide indoor and outdoor dining area. Preety warm environment. Staff was friendly. The price is fair and affordable. A good place for you to celebrate birthday events, family dinner etc.

Food was good. I had the Smoked Duck. The meat was on point! Same goes to other such Salmon, Meatballs, Lamb and Duck Fried Rice. For me its perfect!

However, most the drink was too sweet. I did asked the waiter for less sugar Carrot Juice but end up too sweet. Their signature drink was The Aorora, Kiwi mixed with Vanilla Ice Cream (if im not mistake). But bare in mind its sweeter than my Carrot Juice. 😆

For me they need to improve the service as The place is full when I was there. Eventough we already made our reservation earlier, Some of the food was served late after 1 hour plus we were there. Also there was another customer who didnt get thier food even they made reservation

My suggestion is to make a reservation first rather than walk in. The place close quite early than average restaurant

P/s: The staff did mention that they lack of staff. Hope this problem...

We went to Aorora for dinner after a tiring day and expected normal service, not even some kind of special treatment.

Tell me why we had to pay service charge even though my sister was told to take her own cutleries when she asked for them. Is it not normal that the waiter is supposed to place them on our table according to our orders?

To add, your waiters should attend to waiting customers (taking orders, following through requests, etc.) before cleaning tables and sorting out cutleries. I'd understand if there was an overflow in customers but the crowd was manageable. We had to call for someone to take our orders 3 times. Even when serving our food, the waiter 'memang terpaling busy'. Whoever this waiter is, wearing a black bandana on the waist of his pants, has to be one of the rudest waiters I've encountered.

I cannot deny that the food is amazing, though – props to the kitchen staff. However, train & manage your floor staff properly. I understand working in F&B is a hustle, but it is by no means a reason to take it out...
