EXTREMELY bad service and rude and stupid waiter..
15 Oct 2017
I came here last week on friend recommendation. I was ordered Jus Tembikai Susu or in english they called Honeydew Juice. Since I'm malay, came with malay friends and even the waiter is malay and obviously the owner of this place is malay too, then why should I bother to speaks other language rather than my mother tongue. Few minute later the waiter brought the drinks to our table and passed to everyone include me but that drinks clearly showing it's not Honeydew Juice. So I called the waiter asked where's my drinks, he said there right infront of u "Jus Tembikai+Susu".. I told him, I was ordered for "Jus Tembikai Susu" or in English "Honeydew Juice" not "Jus Tembikai campur susu'.. Then I asked for a new and right one from waiter. You guys know what, the waiter being sacarstic and full of attitude and said next time please order correctly. Excuse me, who actually did..I wrongly order or u deaf waiter was quite rudeHe said he would have to pay for it himself. We were refused a new bottle. This guy should not be working in the service business. Thank you for nothing Mr. Stay away from this sad place.
This is going the 1st and the last time I came here the waiter is particularly rude! He really upset me. Rude obnoxious arrogant made it very clear we need to go almost as soon as we finished. Slammed menus on our table and someone else's glasses I was visiting with my son and we had thus far had a really lovely time. This rude man...
Read moreHotmas is one of those places that you give 5 star simply because the quality and value of food makes up for everything (even if you see a mouse skittering on the floor. I've seen it once and I still go there. The food is too delicious to nitpick about anything). The price range is a bit higher than regular restaurants but only because they serve double the portion. For example, a simple nasi goreng kampung would range at rm5 but hotmas charges an extra rm1 and serves it with sunny side egg to boot. The fried rice has that smoky flavour that really hits you right where you want it. And most of western food is catered to the Malaysian palate, the black pepper sauce is simply divine. Again, the grilled food has that that smoky, almost-charcoal flavour that makes the food all the better. And everything is super sized! The atmosphere... well, I don't know how NOT to insult but uh... when you're eating, you don't care? If you care, takeaway the food and eat at home cuz the tables are a bit.... cough roach nest cough and the service is good. They're not so keen to please you but the waiters are professional and do their work well. The wait for food is short because the kitchen staff are really quick. (Also another reason I can't reduce a star) If I can give anyone an advice, don't stick your finger in those weird, random little holes on the table. You're gonna regret it....
Read moreWe came about 8.00pm, just before the crowd. The place filled up quickly after that. So it is a busy place even on weekdays.
Food-wise, my grilled chicken was probably pre-cooked and only slightly warm (tepid is probably more correct) and the fries were cold and soggy. The coleslaw was obviously prepared much, much earlier as it was going bad already. I had one bite and decided not to have anymore of the coleslaw just to be safe. My friend’s chicken chop was also cold and had a very thick batter. Nothing appetizing about his meal, from my point of view.
On the whole, I think, since the restaurant gets a lot of customer, food quality unfortunately became secondary and the most ordered items were pre-cooked in big batches to safe time. On one hand our orders came out quickly but on the other hand the chicken was cold, the fries soggy and nothing tasted nice. I’d give 5.5/10 for my food.
The staffs were indifferent and seemed as if they just wanted to get your food out ASAP and get you out of the restaurant ASAP so that more people could come in. Sad, really.
I’d probably not come back to this restaurant and my 3-stars I think is more than...
