My business partner & I decided to stay in a hotel that would give us a different experience from the norm. After scouting on Agoda, we found El-Zahraa Inn to be the one. The room was beautiful & the architecture of the Hotel proved to be different from the rest. ||||So, I called up the Hotel for more information. No one picked up on my 1st call. I tried again for the 2nd time & was greeted by a lady who explained she was with a customer & would call me back in 10 mins time. ||||I received her call 20 mins later. So, it wasn't a big deal that she was 10 mins late. She was very good at answering all my questions though. I was satisfied with her thorough explanation. ||||She informed that there were only 2 parking bays reserved for Hotel guests. But we would not require a parking coupon as we will check-in during the weekend. There will also be a separate charge if we require breakfast at RM10 per day for 2 pax. As there is no cafe in the Hotel, they will send our breakfast to the room at 8:15 am. Breakfast will be sourced from 3rd party operators & we do not get to choose our food. It will depend on what is available from the 3 menus. Water pressure is said to be good & there will be a hand bidet in the bathroom. ||||We were lucky when we arrived at the Hotel. Parking was available & the check-in process was a breeze. Unfortunately, we were given a room on the upper most floor. We found out that there wasn't any lift & so we climbed those flight of stairs, huffing & puffing. But I really enjoyed the incense or air-freshener in the Hotel. ||||Room 306 was our home for the next 2 days. When I opened the door, I was shocked! The room was very small & compact! Immediately I went to the bathroom to get some air as I was feeling claustrophobic. There were no windows in our room. I had asked for a change of room but they were fully booked. Lady luck had deserted us. ||||The air-conditioner was OK only. TV had bad reception though equipped with some Astro channels. There wasn't any fridge but we were provided with bottled water, coffee & tea. Fittings were a little worn out. Carpet needed a good wash though it was clean. A copy of the Glorious Qur'an & prayer mat were available for Muslim guests. Water pressure was good as promised. Shower gel & shampoo were thoughtfully provided. Unfortunately, my only complaint was on the terrible water drainage system. We had to use our flipflops as we felt icky from the water that took a long time to be drained out from the floor during our shower.||||The Hotel staff weren't very discreet. We could hear them talking very loudly in the morning. And breakfast was nasi lemak for the 2 entire days! Get your own breakfast as there are a number of restaurants nearby.||||Overall, the Hotel was clean & we enjoyed the Middle Eastern decor & were grateful to the courteous & helpful front-desk staff. Best of all, we had free WiFi...
Read moreWe just wanted a night rest after a grueling 7 hrs drive from KL. we have another 2 hrs to go but decided to just get an accommodation in Sungai Petani. We found this hotel on the internet with a good review so far. ||||True to the reviews received, this is a cool budget hotel. This is a boutique hotel by my standard.||||The decor is excellent ...Mediterranean/Moorish concept. Quire rare here in Malaysia...a breath of new idea for a change.||||With an affordable or cheaper than usual price, don't expect a full board hotel stuff. The standard room is smaller than the normal standard room but adequate. ||||To our surprise, breakfast for two was served in room dining ....simple yet delicious...nasi lemak..wow.||||The down side, this two-storey high hotel has no elevators and parking is publich parking out front. Need parking coupon which can be bought from the front desk.||||I like this hotel and will consider as a top option...
Read moreMiddle East decorations from front door up to toilet furnishings. Exquisite interior designs. 3 storey but elevator. Friendly staff. A tray of breakfast were provided to us around 8 am, sent to our room. However, the shower pump was leaking and producing high pitch sounds. The bedsheets also have 'you know what' stain. I'm not sure whether the stain is permanent or they didn't bother to change. However, the towels were pretty soft and smell nicely. Al-quran and praying mat are also provided in the wardrobe. No hairdryer. Iron and iron board are provided nearby stairway. I stayed in deluxe queen room. And tbh the room is so small. If you bring luggages, don't choose this room. Overall, it was a...
