Mcdota Fried Chicken (Les Jaya Enterprise) — Restaurant in Kedah

This is a restaurant that has a long history. The cooks and servers come and go, but this restaurant remains strong.

You can expect an old style atmosphere once you set your foot inside. Well, isn't it wonderful? We are all now going to the latest hip restaurant with faux 70s and 80s decor. But this place, it's authentic. However, you can't find round table and stools here. That's a kopitiam; this is a restaurant.

Food wise, there's the usual fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy. Remember, this restaurant was once popular among the locals who had not yet been introduced to Kentucky Fried Chicken. Not the new fast food KFC, but the old Kentucky Fried Chicken where the chicken, mashed potatoes and coleslaw were served in a proper plate with metal cutlery. Almost a fine dining experience back then.

Well, let's get back to this restaurant review. There are plenty of tables and chairs. Air-conditioned and fans to make sure the customers are comfortable in the restaurant while they escape the scorching hot Sungai Petani afternoon sun.

My suggestion: hire a proper barista or simple tukang bancuh kopi. Customers want "Real" nescafe ais, "Real" teh...

Went there for porridge. We added nasi lemak set, plain rice set and also fries.

The place was empty. After a while crowd began to trickled in. Place was as usual cleaned. Quiet. The porridge my daughter picked was plain. The nasi lemak set was nice. You don't get better taste nasi lemak than that. Chicken curry was not spicy. The sambal bilis was good but spicy. The nasi set comes with ayam goreng berempah. No comment. The sambal udang was spicy, but good. I love spicy. It served with plain tomyam soup which is flat. This is well known place for people in Sg Petani. The food serve do not change much sonce 6 years I came to know. Unfortunately, some of the staffs has left. But, staff are still polite and friendly. Try any of the food. You never regret....

The food and taste compare to before 7 years and now totally different getting worst in taste... kedai nasi goreng tepi jalan better lagi..please maintain your previous taste and quality....in my whole spicy fried rice i just found 1 piece chicken and 1 half piece of fish ball...but in menu book picture totally different looks like full with chicken and fishball... and oder nescafe hot kena bancuh sendiri pula but selling price like u yg bancuh...the chicken nuggets u selling higher price at least sell the good brand one la....regret with the taste compare to last 7 years... service all ok but food taste veey common only...Felt Mcdota signature taste is no more...if you can't maintain the food taste for the price given better close...
