In starck contrast to the spirit of the island and its lovely locals this place is utterly atrocious! Decided to stop here after the beach as i fancied a chippy. The man who looked like the manager/owner (a bald indian man with a beard). The most happless manager youve ever laid eyes upon took my order. I had to repeat it twice and even then i knew it wasnt coming. I waited for 45 mins while other tables got served and i was steadily ignored by this utterly incompetent man. As i could smell the dealthy overused oil and see the dissatisfied faces of the people who were eating there i knew it was no great loss. I decided to finish the chapter of the book i was reading and leave. When i went to pay for the drink ( an over priced lime juice that has not seen a lime in its processed life) he literally shouted at me or at the staff or at the vaccum of space i could not tell. Protesting to say the the fish is ready. It was not! It was just pure and utterly ridiculous indignation at his own incompetence. The incredulous look on the staff told me everyrhing i needed to know. This place smelled awful was stupidly overpriced and was clearly set up to serve boozed up giant lobsters. If you know you know. Avoid and get an infinitely better meal/ even a chippy style one at any of the local places. Support the locals and avoid...
Read moreWas really looking forward to visiting this outlet since we had such a pleasant experience with the tanjung rhu outlet and was so happy it's really close to our hotel.
The food was reasonably priced and the fish and chips definitely continued to hold up the high quality. Good selection fish too! Great live band music! Awesome view!
The 2 star review was mainly due to the service we received from the male waiter. arrived early dinner and the restaurant had 2-3 occupied tables with 90% of the tables available. Said waiter requested for us to move to a smaller table since we were only 2 pax, which we obliged and understood. the table we moved to was half covered with rain water which we politely asked him to wipe it. He first said "it's only rain water" and proceed to take the cleaning cloth. When he returned, he then repeated himself "its only rain water", at this point I responded "yes I know but you don't expect me to eat on a table half flooded with rain water rigtt? ." We would be perfectly fine moving to another table again but I definitely do not appreciate his remarks (twice!). This is where the 2 star is justifed. he also did not bring us the menu which we had to request from another lady.
Would I return to...
Read moreFirstly the food here was good, the fish nuggets and the fish and chips were very good. Better than a lot of others back in KL including the one at Harry Ramsden at Genting. You get a real fish with proper meat and a nice coating. Best of all, they have vinegar and salt available.
What made me give them a 1-star was the service. First, they forgot my son's orange juice. Not so big a deal but we were the only customers in the restaurant. Then my wife's cappuccino's milk was completely off and it floated on top of the coffee (yucks) and finally they forgot my fish and chips order (we ordered two but they only sent one). The waiter thought he wanted to be cool and took our orders without writing anything down. Honestly, the whole service spoiled our experience here. Next time we might just drive all the way to Tanjong Rhu to...
