The Cellar V — Restaurant in Kedah

It's a very nice concept cellar/bar/restaurant and I am so glad that Alor Setar has it. This shop looks classy with simple deco. I'm excited to see a wide selection of alcoholic beverages on the shelves. It felt cozy. There are tables and chairs for dining in. When I was there, the downstairs area was so packed and quite noisy so we decided to go up and have our food and drink. The first hour was fine, but after that a group of people came out from a private room (they looked f'ing drunk).. and started to shout and smoked cigarettes openly, which spoils the mood a little. Wanted to try their smoked duck pizza/pasta, was told that all duck has finished. Tried truffle fries and Italian pizza instead, they were good. I would say dining on a round table wasnt very nice, coz it was quite small. Overall I love the ambiance, reasonable priced alcohols and the good selections of food. The owner was also very nice to help with wine selection. If it's not too crowded, suggest to stay on the ground floor, the table is larger. I will...

Found out about this place when my friends back in PJ, ordered wine for me on my birthday from here. Searched their social media and found out they served food too. Since almost all the well known cafes were full on New Year's day, decided to try this place out. Because the place was empty, it kinda helped us with the social distancing bit. It's a small place btw... Very simple decor. But the food was actually good. We personally enjoyed the smoked duck sambal spaghetti and the mushroom pizza. We had soju to compliment our meal.

For wine lovers, you'll love this place. They have an extensive selection and their prices are reasonable. I actually bought 2bottles of moscato to take home since it was on promo.

This is one of the wine store that I prefer and recommend in Alor Setar area, the place's ambiance are very comfortable and unhurried. The food is delicious and there is a wide selection of wines.
