This place was highly recommended to us, as soon as we arrived in Kota Bharu. Even Nasir in Cyberjaya texted me the reviews and the direction to this restaurant. Hence, off we went, both of us with empty stomachs...

As soon as we entered the venue, we were greeted by billowing smokes!! Aromas of fish and chicken were also in the air, but they were in the form of smokes nonetheless!! That definitely made us highly uncomfortable..

As I took to the forming queue to place my orders, my wife rushed to the enclosed airconditioned dining room, only to find it fully occupied already. So, she quietly walked out to sit at the table for two in the stuffy smoked filled open air dining area. I ordered the Fish and Chicken Percik, which was a flavorful mixture of thick coconut gravy, unmistakenly a kelantanese dish. I also requested for the Barbequed Lamb and Smoke fired Tongue, the more exotic dishes displayed on the menu. Unfortunately, the waiter just brushed me off, saying they dont serve those at the moment. Well, why did you advertise in the menu then?

I noticed that new customers kept coming in, but it took them forever to manage the large crowd, starting from taking orders, preparing the dishes, and serving to the starving customers. By then it was already 3:00 pm, but customers kept coming in droves...

I am all for good affordable and delicious food, but the management must step up as well. If you cannot manage your customers well, they might not come back again in the future. And, why not cook or prepare the food at the rear, or "behind the scene"? Do the customers really need to see the actions, and absorbed the smoke in the eyes as well? Im sure the solution...

The chicken and ikan keli were grilled to perfection. The chicken was very moist and soft, unlike any other grilled chicken percik i had before in my life where it tend to be dry and over charred. The most soft & moist grilled chicken I've ever had in my life. Really2 enjoyed it.

The percik gravy however tasted just average for me. It was sweet..urgh...which has been in trend these past 5 years where people tend to cooked sweet-percik gravy.

Nasi kerabu here was average also but i think it was good enough for outsiders & tourists. 3/5 stars for nasi kerabu.

Variety of food is what make this restaurant great. I've yet to try its chicken and beef bakar and all its side dishes. They look good.

Price wise, it's really over priced for me as kelantanese. Nasi putih RM2.20, skyjuice 40 freaking cent! teh tarik 2.50, and nasi putih tambah RM2 (the same nasi putih kosong i ordered earlier 😲) But, seeing how outsiders are their usual customers, its justifiable i guess.

Service was fast but the waitresses were not very friendly. Parking however 👎 very limited & causes traffic jams on the main road during peak hours

Almost forgot...the chicken was grilled next to the main road. Asap kereta lori tend to lekat at your food if they didn't put a barrier. So i suggest go eat at this restaurant during rainy season or at...

We came on 4/2/2019. We waited for table for 15minutes and order was taken after we were seated at 3:30pm. Our food came at 4:30pm and after we finished eating then the drinks came. The ayam percik was good but it took forever to wait for the food and even longer for the drinks which I cannot comprehend! The menu was exhaustive but if the owner didn't do anything about the forever waiting... I can say that this is my first and last time coming here. The restaurant got A ratings but I can see that it is not really A rating clean.

Advise for owner, please do something on the followings: Waiting time for food and drinks Seating is not available though people are coming in. Add workers or utilise your worker properly as i thought the guy taking order is actually making drinks but actually he is not. So I wonder why the drinks took 1 hour to arrive? Separate the eat in and take out orders. I think the delay is due to the take outs orders overwhelming the kitchen grill area.

Overall, will not come again even though the food was great due to waiting of drinks took 1 hour. Really upset my family...

The restaurant is really Eco-friendly. The environment is nice, well-balanced and the decoration and designs are pretty nice. I went before but I'd say this place is well-known by local people around here. The foods got a lot of choice and you can spontaneously choose whatever you heart desires. The foods were really delicious and kinda spicy. The spices, the ingredients are well-mixed and the mixture of the dishes are nice. Nice chef/chefs! The libations were normal and typical like other common restaurant. The price is really affordable. This restaurant is great for family gathering and group gathering. It's cozy enough for gathering! The service is kinda slow and the facilities is kinda bad. Need to improve more including hygiene section. Other than that, I satisfied with this! Recommended though <3

From the other reviews here, I'm guessing this place is a little inconsistent and misses the mark on service. I didn't expect much when dropping by here, but I was totally floored by how good the nasi kerabu was. Full-flavoured and fresh! Best one of the trip. The namesake ayam percik (doused in the rich sweet white-type percik sauce) was solid too, although a little dry. Also had some piping hot lamb cutlets, which was delicious (probably a fresh batch that day). Had no problems with service. More expensive than the other places in Kota Bharu that we had, but still cheap in the scale of things (it's a lot of meat). Overall, my favourite meal in this Kota Bharu trip!
