The overall 2 stars I'm giving is the table reservation issue and service by the staff here. And Compared to my experience at the publika outlet where I would give 5 stars for their service. I tried reserving a table for Friday evening on Monday that week and within 5 hours of confirming when my husband would get home, there were no more slots. It stills says 50% capacity to walk in customers so I made my husband rush home and get ready to get there by 6pm at least so we can get a table outdoors. This is our first time at this outlet as its nearer to our home. We were greeted by a smile-less restaurant manager Ashini (not sure I got the spelling right) and I saw every single table with a reservation sign. She said she has a table but there's a reservation at 8.30pm for that table...we said yes that's fine we just want a quick dinner. She showed us to a table inside right next to the kitchen door. I asked her if there are any outside instead she just shook her head and no smile no nothing. Felt so impersonal with no hospitality training whatsoever. Then I watched people coming in...those with reservation showed their phones or she checked the book. 2 people then walked in and asked table for 2 and she did show them a table outside. The rest of the staff were ok but need training. One was chewing on some food, and they all gathered together laughing and talking while I was waving for so long to order our food. Anyway I lost my appetite because for me service is important...not how good your food is which is most of the comments here and also we didn't encounter the wonderful "Faisal and Alan" that is mentioned here in many of the reviews maybe because we were seated inside. We just had nachos and 2 drinks and left and the tables were all still very empty awaiting their "later reservations". For me that just spells uninviting. Never going to this...

My family and I embarked on a culinary journey that left us utterly delighted - a fantastic Mexican dinner that we will cherish in our memories for years to come.
From the moment we entered the restaurant, the warm and inviting ambiance set the perfect tone for the evening. The colorful decor and traditional music transported us straight to Mexico.
The menu was a true testament to the rich and diverse flavors of Mexican cuisine. We decided to share a variety of dishes to fully immerse ourselves in this gastronomic adventure. The appetizers were a tantalizing start - from the crispy and flavorful nachos with guacamole to the mouthwatering quesadillas oozing with cheese and spices, our taste buds were awakened.
The main courses were nothing short of spectacular, and let's not forget the classic Mexican dish, tacos! We savored every bite of the authentic street-style tacos filled with marinated meats and garnished with fresh cilantro and onions.
The drinks were equally impressive, with vibrant and refreshing margaritas that perfectly complemented the flavors of the dishes. The friendly and attentive staff added to the overall experience, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout the meal.
Beyond the culinary delights, what truly made this Mexican dinner unforgettable was the company of my family. We laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed each other's company in the warm and inviting surroundings.
In conclusion, our fantastic Mexican dinner with family was a feast for the senses, filled with extraordinary flavors, a vibrant ambiance, and cherished moments spent together. If you are a fan of authentic Mexican cuisine and wish to create beautiful memories with your loved ones, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. It's an experience that we'll undoubtedly cherish...
Read moreGave them a chance as most of the reviews were good but actually it wasn't worth the money. It's sad to see that clearly most people who have visited this place have no understanding of what good Mexican food or good margaritas actually mean.
As it was a new place I tried margaritas first which were disappointing. At first they were made with lime juice which came from the bottle and tasted chemical and bad. As before ordering I specifically asked if they use fresh lime juice they apologized and tried again. Sadly it didn't go better as it was light and still tasted weird and there didn't seem to be any alcohol at all. My drink go to order is always margarita and I could say that I know the difference between bad and good margaritas. But this place has no understanding how to make margaritas.
My wife ordered frozen margarita and we specifically ordered without sugar or syrup (as it's supposed to be) but they brought premade syrupy slushy. They replaced it once I called it out, but received the worst frozen margarita I have had in Malaysia.
Once I had the margarita experience I decided to see if at least their food is worth the hype, but it wasn't. Ordered the fish taco, which tasted like mud.
If you happen to find in the situation where you accidentally chose this place, only thing to order is tortilla chips with pico de Gallo - only solid choice there :)
If you want to have good Mexican food and drink experience I recommend going to any La Boca location, as they know what they are doing, but avoid Chica Bonita as they are not worth your...
