Coco Steamboat has always been our family's favourite. So we thought, for this year's Mother's Day, let's order takeaway steamboat to enjoy at home. However, it turned out to be a bad experience because of the ordering system and poor handling of situation of the store person.
I searched for my current location but little did I know that there wasn't any part for me to fill out my condo building. Without thinking much, I proceeded to payment and didn't realise that Coco Steamboat did not have my complete address and they went on with delivery without further checking.
I was busy getting my kids showered for the evening without taking note of my phone, thinking that they will deliver to my house. When I was showering my kid, the rider and Coco Steamboat called because they couldn't locate my house. I only managed to check my phone 15 minutes later and they got so mad.
What got me even more upset was the rider was at a location 15 minutes away from my house.
The rider asked us to pay extra for the delivery because of the wait and additional travelling and we asked Coco Steamboat how to go about this. The answer was 'if you want you can pay' and they went silence after saying they will speak to the rider.
We ended up paying additional RM20 for the delivery because the rider requested for it.
It would have helped if Coco Steamboat apologised for the flaws with the ordering system and be sure the food reached the family first, instead of focussing on blaming and explaining the timeline and the problem, which was not helpful when you have an elderly and young kids at home waiting for the food.
I hope you can improve on your takeaway system or work with Oodle to be sure you have full address of the customer before you can proceed with any order and train your staff to know how to handle customer's...
Read moreI recently visited Coco Steamboat Old Klg Road and I must say, my experience was very disappointing.
Firstly, the pork bone soup, which was one of the highlights of my previous visits, was a letdown this time. The soup tasted watery and lacked the rich flavor I had come to expect. It seemed like the recipe had changed, and it was nowhere near as satisfying as before.
To make matters worse, we were informed by the waiter that sauces and fruit were now charged at RM 5 per person, and sharing was not allowed. This policy was quite perplexing and left a sour taste in our mouths.
Consequently, we decided not to opt for any sauces since they didn't seem particularly special, and the fruit selection was limited to just two types. It was disheartening to see the waiter constantly monitoring our table to ensure we didn't help ourselves to any sauces. This level of scrutiny felt unnecessary and unwelcoming.
The pricing of the soup itself was not cheap either, costing RM 43.90++. However, the waiter did not proactively keep an eye on the soup refills, and we had to repeatedly raise our hands to request more soup. It would have been more convenient and considerate if the staff took the initiative to ensure our pot were topped up without us having to constantly seek their attention.
I will share my visit experience to all of my friends and relatives. In conclusion, the grand interior of the restaurant was impressive, the overall service did not match up to the high price tag. I was disappointed with my recent visit to Coco Steamboat Old Klg Road. The change in the pork bone soup's taste, the questionable policy of charging for sauces, and the lack of attentive service did not justify the restaurant's...
Read moreHad a good meal in Coco Steamboat. However, please be aware and not to park in front Coco Steamboat Scott Garden. I personally think that the parking spot in front Coco Steamboat Scott Garden is misleading the shopper where the clamping sign is not clearly displayed at a visible view. As you can see from the pic, out of so many empty spaces next to the clamping zone, the clamping sign is rather small and hide behind the plant.
Okay, I know I'm careless for not realizing it's a clamping zone. However, the issue that triggered me to post this review is about the intolerable parking management, making me feel very unsafe to be alone in this place at night!
I feel stress and unhappy when I realized my car actually got clamped by the car parkmanagement after my dinner at Coco Steamboat, therefore, I called the management and trying to resolve it. As I left not much cash with me in my purse, therefore, I was trying to find out with the car park management crew if there is any chances to appeal for reducing the summon because this is my first offend to park at clamping zone in Scott Garden. At the same time, trying to understand if there's any alternative to pay the summon except paying cash.
But the crew sounds threatening, did not give alternative to the offender. The only suggestion from the crew was "EITHER YOU PAY THE SUMMON BY CASH NOW OR LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE HERE UNTIL YOU GET TO PAY RM100". At the end, I have no choice but to ask my friend who actually left the place come back to spare me some cash to get the management to...
