TLDR: Terrible customer service but the room was good. You pay for the room not the service. Could have been a 10/10 experience if MyKey put in a little more effort to be considerate. When traveling both the actual room AND service are equally important especially when you encounter issues. How MyKey deals with guest concerns speaks volumes about their values as a hospitality company. We have the same complaints as others before us so it doesn’t seem like they actually act on any of the feedback. Remember that all positive reviews have to do with the facility itself (which has nothing to do with MyKey). The minute you encounter a problem you have to deal with MyKey and I advise you stay away.
I am deeply disappointed with my experience with MyKey. Customer service was frustrating from start to finish. All communication is done via WhatsApp which is very impersonal and not convenient especially due to their limited working hours. They also ignore messages.
Upon entering our room, we were hit with a terrible, lingering odour. Unfortunately, no one was available to assist us because their hours are limited to 9 am-7 pm, and by the time we arrived, the office was closed. We had to air out the room for over two hours, and the smell didn't dissipate until the second day. The hood fan doesn’t work and the frying pan had an awful odour when heated, despite us washing the pan a few times, as a result we decided not to make breakfast in the morning. There were no cereal bowls only massive soup bowls- again for long stays this isn’t really convenient. If you’re eating out all day it’s fine. As others said, there is noise but for us this was mainly due to fireworks going off every night due to Chinese New Year.
We had to pay a $100 CAD cash (or 300RM) deposit for an extra key. The deposit was not returned to us upon checkout because we checked out at 7am, and MyKey doesn’t have a physical presence and does not work outside of 9am- 7 pm. When I inquired about the return of the deposit, they informed us that additional fees will incur for an international bank transfer and they would not cover it. After providing bank details there has been no communication about whether or not this has been processed. It’s been 4 days since we’ve checked out and no one has updated us on anything despite me messaging them every day.
The lack of support, poor customer service, and non-existent assistance throughout the entire stay made this an incredibly disappointing experience. MyKey’s failure to provide basic services is a stark contrast to the hospitality that Malaysia is known for. This was the only downside to our otherwise enjoyable holiday in...
Read moreOur stay at Millerz Square by Mykey Global was unfortunately marred by several significant issues. Initially, we were assigned an apartment located directly beside a busy road, making sleep virtually impossible due to constant traffic noise. While the staff were quick to respond during business hours only, we were forced to relocate to a different unit, causing unnecessary disruption to our plans. Before booking we could find NO reference to the fact that this building is very very noisy. The apartment itself although spacious was somewhat basic. The kitchen, while equipped with a stovetop and microwave, lacked essential items such as adequate cutlery, tea towels, and glasses. Only mugs were provided, suggesting that cooking and entertaining were not encouraged. Nor was the use of the hairdryer as it could not initially be plugged in due to the lack of an adaptor which had to be requested. To further hinder any culinary endeavors, there were no condiments of any kind, and the selection of cooking utensils was extremely limited. Furthermore, the provision of amenities was insufficient. The initial supply of toilet paper was clearly inadequate for an eight-night stay, and the limited supply of shower gel and shampoo ran out prematurely. Noise disturbances were a constant issue. Inconsiderate neighbors played loud music late into the night, often until 3 am, while the sound of furniture dragging and heavy footsteps from upstairs residents were frequent occurrences. The access system proved inconvenient. Only one key card was provided, meaning that guests could not enter or exit the building independently, requiring them to coordinate their movements. The comfort level was also compromised. The pillows were exceptionally hard, making for an uncomfortable sleep experience. In summary, while the staff responded promptly to the initial noise issue, our stay at Millerz Square by Mykey Global was ultimately disappointing. The lack of basic amenities, noise disturbances, and limited access severely impacted our...
Read moreI was super excited for the place. But sadly, the experience was less than ideal or pleasant. Firstly, the management was terrible. The staffs were not useful at all and the number provided doesn’t even work. Just keeps ringing. My first problem popped up immediately after I came through the gate. The guard won’t let me in and kept saying go to front desk. Where is it? I checked all the emails and messages, no explanation. Thanks to a few passersby, I found the Security desk at a different tower infront of a mart (yes, that’s where I’m supposed to pick up the keys). Mind you, I called them constantly but no one picked up. Then I go to the room and it looked pretty good. At first glance- it was big and had nice big windows. But no cutlery provided. Pots, pans everything worn out, the dishwasher sponge may be an antique at this point. Then came the garbage issue. Called them 2 days straight at different times, didn’t receive. I wanted to know where to dispose of garbage as there were ants and saw a cockroach. On my last day, I called them constantly again to know the process of checkout, but once again, no response. In the end, I called trip support and after they tried for almost 1 hr, I received a WhatsApp back. I was told by the Trip Customer Support that the hotel will call me but again, no call. Very frustrating and disappointing attitude by the staff. I asked them clearly, why wasn’t all the check in, check out info shared? Their excuse, “we didn’t have your number”. Ahmm, they did! When I asked them about all the issues they simply ignored me and said if you have any future issues text us here. Never again will I stay at this establishment in Malaysia or anywhere in the world. They just want the money. No customer service and definitely no value for money paid. If you want a place where you won’t be able to contact anyone, get no support, be ignored by staff and figure everything on your own (opening door, operating lift, etc.) or be at the mercy of passersby, go ahead and...
