Dayang Sarawak Corner | Mee Kolok & Laksa Sarawak — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Been craving for Mi Kolok Sarawak the reason for me found this restaurant. As I know, this restaurant also have other branch. But this one is really beside LRT/MRT Sungai Besi which is easy to access.

I am a half-Sarawakian, so I can said the Mi Kolok is really nice. The mee is not dry plus the soup is flavorful with the pepper not just a bland. The portion is nice actually but a big-eater like me may need a 2nd bowl which lead me to order Laksa Sarawak. Mi kolok 9/10. (Disclaimer: Some prefer it dry)

Laksa Sarawak at this restaurant I can rate it for 7/10. It was good, but soup is not too strong in flavor for me. It's hard to describe, but you know as a Sarawakian, you know the exact feel and taste. But I recommend it to all cause other Laksa Sarawak I taste at other restaurant is not good as Dayang Sarawak's laksa.

Never disappointed me - you will have the same taste everytime you go there. I always fly to Kuching and I have this one favourite Mee Kolok that I love so much and never thought I would find it here in KL. The thing about Mee Kolok that is lacking in Klang Valley is the springiness of the noodle. Mee Kolok is not like our typical mee "maggi" - it is thinner, springier, and has a slight taste to it (not bland). A good Malay mee kolok for me is the cili kicap/ sambal. Yes it is just simple, everyone can do it. But how well can you balance all from the home-made noodle, the cili kicap, slices of beef and bean sprout and sawi. WIth soup. Let me tell a story of how to get a mee kolok in 1+ hour. Ordered Mee Kolok at the counter, she acknowledge my order, I pay and sit down.

When my food arrived, actually it's a bowl of mee soup. I'm thinking she must misheard me or maybe I ordered wrongly. I'm quite disappointed but nevermind, I try to order again for second time from another worker. He received my order, I wait quite a while then I realized i don't think he key in my order.

So I need to call another worker to re-confirm my order and after that in a short while I get my Mee Kolok. The time sheet at my mee sup stated 17:11 and I get my second order-mee kolok by 6++.
